New Years Eve Party at Contemporary

Just read the announcement of the New Years Eve party at the Contemporary. Am I missing something here? I understand Disney has discovered a market for add ons, hard ticket events etc. but they've priced this at $799 per person? I have a lot of questions like why so much? and who is paying this much for this? Any thoughts?

I'm sure they are targeting people that are willing to pay for something similar to a New Year's Eve party in New York (or similar, ~$300 - $1650/tix) and then putting an additional premium on it (you know.. because Disney).

Personally, I think it is overpriced, but there are people who will pay it. Some do it because price equals exclusivity and “the best” to them. Some do it because they want a once in a lifetime splurge. Some do it because they like the theme or the location. I don’t think they will have trouble filling the spots, but I won’t be one of them.
