We are braving the crowds again this year to spend New Year's at Disney! I remember last year there were closures in the am at Magic Kingdom. We spent the afternoon at Epcot and midnight at Hollywood. If we decide to brave the worst crowds at Magic Kingdom will we be able to get in around 7:00 pm? I remember the park opening again in the afternoon and I don't think it closed again that day???? Any thoughts ??? The kids really want to be IN Magic Kingdom for New Year's this time around.

If you are talking NYE there's probably a chance that park will be closed for capacity. If they are wanting to be there to see the fireworks sometimes the view is better from outside the park around the monorail loop than from inside.

Yes they will close the parks, but opened them from time to time depending on the crowds. If I were to go the the MK I would get there early and stay all day just to be sure. You can take a chance and leave and come back. Odds are they will open again, but I would have a back-up plan. Whatever you decide you will have a great time. I love the atmosphere during the Holidays and especially NYE!!

Enjoy The Magic!!

Thanks for the replies. We watched the New Year's Eve fireworks from our balcony at Bay Lake last year on the 30th. We wanted to watch it from the inside this year on the 31st. We will go for it and have a back up plan if it's closed. :)

I love Disney but the main reason we take the week in September is to NOT have to worry about capacity closings. It would be fun to hang at the California Grill or Grand Floridian for Midnight though. I'd image the Boardwalk is kicking too.
