Has anyone ever cruised over New Years Eve on Disney? Are there special events for adults? For kids? Does kids club stay open longer? Do people get more dressed up? Tuxes? Gowns? Looking for some insight from experienced cruisers?

We were on the Magic last year (this year?) for New Years.
They have a big party in the attrium, (the called it the Grand Ballroom for the night )and if that gets too crowded, everything is televised into the clubs, and in the cabins.....free champagne. They also had everyone order any extra champagne you wanted ahead of time so there wasn't a mad rush....they did that in the dining room.
It was already formal night, but come to think of it, that may be why they held formal night that night. But it was a real mix of clothing....we had late seating, and had a leisurely dinner until almost 11 pm, then headed to the attrium. I think a lot of the early seating folks got out of their fancy clothes. They dropped balloons and confetti at midnight, had the charactors out. The the most amazing thing of all, not a single piece of the party mess was still there the next morning. The cleanup crew did an awesome job.
I just pulled out the Navigator, and the kids clubs were open normal hours. Even on New Year's Eve Disney still is an early to bed early to rise cruise. Also, on this itinerary we were in St. Thomas that day, so that meant not only was everyone staying up until midnight, but that morning everyone had to be up early to clear immigration between 6:30 and 8 am....however, that night, we set the clocks back one hour at 2 am, so you did pick up an hour, and the next day was an at sea day.
The only thing I did not like was how expensive it was to buy Martinelli's Sparking Cider for the kids. I know, like wine, to expect prices to be 2 or 3 times what they are at home, but Martinelli's is $2.50 a bottle at home, it was $18 on the ship. That is way way way way too much of a markup.
