We've decided to have some friends over New Year's Eve, but decided to forgo the formal meal. We are going to stick with strickly finger foods. Any thoughts on what you would like to have if you were coming over?

I do not eat my fingers or other peoples

vegetable pizza is good- here is one recipe

Crust: 1 large and 1 small package Pillsbury crescent rolls

Sauce: ½ cup mayonnaise

1 8 oz. Cream cheese

1 package dry Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing

Topping: 1 package Shredded Cheese

1 medium onion

Broccoli

Cauliflower

Tomato

1 can black olives

Directions: Butter a 9 X 13 pan and spread crescent rolls over the bottom. Bake using the instruction on the package. Meanwhile, mix the sauce ingredients together. Cool the crescent rolls completely and spread the sauce liberally over the top. Dice all vegetable very fine and spread over the top of the sauce. You may add or omit any vegetables to taste. Spread the cheese over the top and refrigerate for 24 hours. Cut into small squares and enjoy!!!!

Sounds like fun, tiggerlover! :)

I'd like:

meatballs in that barbeque sauce (like the little smokies) :teeth:
cheese ball and crackers
sausage balls
chicken wings/fingers with ranch or blue cheese dip
celery and dip
Frozen mini eclairs

My family has a tradition of finger-foods on NYE. The big 3 you can always count on are cheese balls w/crackers, 7-layer dip w/tortilla chips (YUM), and deviled eggs. Maybe I should make my own since I won't be going home this year. :(

I have the most excellent recipe....
It sounds gross, but we took 10 pounds to a party tonight and they were gone very early on.....

1 5 pound bag of frozen meatballs
1 can of cranberry sauce
1 can of Heinz chilli sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
juice of half a lemon

In a sauce pan heat chilli sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice and cranberry sauce until melted. Pour over frozen meatballs and mix well. Place meatballs in a oven proof pan and bake at 350 for 25 minutes or place in a crock pot until heated through. Watch your guest devour these tasty little morsels!! Yummy!!!

Of course if I were coming to your house I am thinking a nice good parm would be tasty, a little olive oil and bread for dipping and maybe a margherita pizza on a nice thin crust.

Some of my favorites....also like the layered the Mexican layered dip.....and Christmas cookies ;)

Savory Chicken Bites

Recipe By :Nancy {:-)

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
8 ounces cream cheese -- softened
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon dried basil -- crushed
1/4 teaspoon onion salt
1/8 teaspoon dried oregano -- crushed
1/8 teaspoon dried thyme -- crushed
1 cup finely chopped cooked chicken
1/3 cup finely chopped celery
2 ounces chopped pimiento -- drained
2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
1 egg -- beaten
1 1/2 teaspoons sesame seeds

Combine cream cheese, juice and seasonings, mixing until well blended.
Stir in chicken, celery and pimiento. Mix well.
Separate dough into 8 rectangles. Firmly press perforations to seal.
Spread each rectangle with cream cheese mixture, leaving 1/2" of dough on one long edge. Roll up, starting with long edge spread with cream cheese mixture. Seal edges. Brush with egg. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Cut each roll into 4 pieces.
Place, seam side down, on lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Serve immediately.

Cold boiled shrimp, already peeled, with shrimp sauce :)

My favorite is Sausage snack wraps.

2-8oz. cans pillsbury refrigerated crescent dinner rolls.
48 fully cooked cocktail smoked sausage links or hot dogs.

Heat oven to 375, wrap sausage or hot dogs with the crescent dough and bake for 12 to 15 min. or until golden brown.
Serve warm with ketchup & mustard for dipping if desired.

To make head, prepare as directed. Cover and refrigerate up to 2 hours. Bake as directed.

Quick Pizza Wraps.

1-8oz. can pillsbury refrigerated crescent dinner rolls.
1/2 cup prepared pizza sauce
4oz.(1-cup) shredded mozzerella cheese.
Fresh oregano, if desired.

Heat oven to 375. Remove dough from can in rolled sections; do not unroll. Cut each roll into 12 slices; place cut side down 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 10 min. Remove from oven and spoon about 1 teaspoon pizza sauce on top of each slice; sprinkle cheese over sauce. Return to oven; bake 3 to 5 additional min. or until edges are golden brown and cheese is melted. Garnish with oregano, serve warm.

Side note: You cand combine cheese with 1/3 cup chopped salami or pepperoni; sprinkle mixture over sauce. Bake as directed.

Both recipes are from Classic Pillsbury Cookbooks.

And it is SOOOOO yummy!!!

1 lb. goat cheese
1 small jar of pesto
1 small jar of sun dried tomatos
1/2 cup cream
salt
peper
pine nuts optional

Mix goat cheese, cream, salt and pepper until smooth.

Place Saran Wrap in a small sloping bowl that will hold all of the contents of teh recipe. (I am very lucky to have the perfect size bowl for this. Make sure the entire inside of the bowl is covered with Saran Wrap). Put 1/3 of the goat cheese mixture in the bolw and press firmly into the bowl. Cover the goat cheese with a nice layer of pesto. Be careful to keep it away from the edges (but if it seeps through it is still a very pretty dip). Add 1/3 more goat cheese mixture on top of that. Place finely diced sun dried tomatos over the cheese and add teh last of teh cheese. Cover with Saran Wrap and press everything down firmly. Chill for a few hours or overnight and then unmold. This should be very easy since you Saraned the bowl. Top with pine nuts and serve with crackers or flat bread. This is VERY YUMMY!!!! And it is also very festive with the red and green...very holidayie!! So do tell, what are you having for New Year's?

What size can of cranberry sauce and chili sauce?

i LOVE Hebrew Nationals pigs in a blanket. Another good idea is english muffin pizzas. Just a toasted english muffin, sauce, cheese, oil and oregano and toss it in the over for about 10 mins!
