Hey y'all! We're planning our Christmas/New Years trip this year. My mom and I were just talking about how insane the crowds will be and we wondered if the fireworks voyages are done on New Year's Eve? We've done the Pirate and Pals fireworks voyage twice in the past and just loved it and figured this would be a relatively stress free way to watch the fireworks from the lagoon. Has anyone here done this or have any suggestions?

We did the New Years Fireworks Cruise last year on December 30. Because of the popularity of the MK New Years Fireworks, they have been offering the fireworks on both the 30 and 31st. We had our RV at Fort Wilderness, where we were staying, and we boarded right at Fort Wilderness at 10:50 pm from the dock. There were 7 of us, and I believe they can hold up to 10 persons. There were four adults and three children. Snacks, soda, and water were all complimentary, and we had the most wonderful captain. We learned so much history of WDW, Fort Wilderness, etc. He positioned our boat close to the GF, as the grand finale for these two shows are on the island between the MK and GF. It was spectacular, the sound is led into your boat, the countdown, all was fabulous. The price was around 500.00, and we enjoyed every bit of it. After the fireworks, The boat ride was back to Fort Wilderness was a bit slower, as heavy boat traffic for all the specialty cruises slows the return. We did not get back to our dock until 1:00 am. Blankets were provided as the evening chill moved in. I do not believe this cruise was available to book until October/November. I did call often before the cruise was offered. An expensive night, but a memorable, non crowded night. It then left New Years open to party on the beach!

Thank you for the input, but I was referring to the fireworks voyages that depart from the Contemporary, with the pre-cruise reception meeting with Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. I remember being divided into two groups and sailing on two different boats each holding around 40 people. Does Disney do these for New Year's Eve?

Pirates and Pals is not usually offered for Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks or other specialty fireworks. Wishes only. Only the private fireworks cruises.

P & P runs every night. You can see regular Wishes, Hallowishes and the Christmas fireworks from a regularly scheduled P & P voyage. What you won't see are any FW scheduled outside of the normal times. So if the FW are 8pm, 9pm, 9:30pm or 10pm you can view them from a P& P cruise. Special ones at 11pm or midnight don't coincide with sailings.

What number do I call if I want to reserve this? I know you said it won't be available until Ocyober or November, but I'm really interested since Dec 30 is my bday. Also, when I call do I just tell them I'm interested in the private fireworks cruise? There are 9 in our party.

I am quite sure the number is 407-939-7529. Call daily, and hopefully you can get a reservation when it opens up. enjoy.

This is great information. I would love to do this but don't think our budget will stretch to it this time. :goodvibes
