New Year's Eve fireworks at Magic Kingdom

A 5:30pm CG ADR sounds like a good plan to me! Although I keep forgetting that the calendar is currently showing Enchantment as the 6:30pm show. Enchantment is fine from CG, although I wish it was Fantasy in the Sky.

But a good CG meal and fireworks to fuel up for a late night in MK still gets my vote.
Thanks for your updates. As a fellow annual Disney NYE person, I've got to say that I'm a little bummed out to see "Enchantment" listed in the 6:30 fireworks slot on the 30th and 31st. In the past, I'd always enjoyed watching the spectacular "Fantasy In the Sky" fireworks show at both 6:30 and 11:50 on the 30th and 31st. The show is awesome early and late. Honestly, the whole discussion of the "difference" between the early and late shows is very slight (and I agree, really only makes a difference if you're watching from the resort).

Enchantment is not a bad show, but in my opinion, is somewhat lackluster when viewed from the resorts. Also, I'm going to have some grandparents with me on the 31st this year and had hoped to catch Fantasy In the Sky with them at 6:30 vs. midnight. (I'm sure parents of little kids feel the same). Fingers crossed that the 6:30 "Enchantment" listing in the calendar changes to "Fantasy in the Sky" (and that "Fantasy in the Sky" gets put on the calendar for 11:50 as well... I'm assuming it will). Fantasy in the Sky is the whole reason I do an annual NYE trek to Disney. It is so good.

If Fantasy in the Sky is shown on 30th December would the view be better from the Tomorrowland Terrace or California Grill

Continue to monitor the Disney park hours calendar. To date, a 2nd showing of the MK and Epcot fireworks have not yet been added to the calendar.

I hope they update soon, they released Treats and Seats for a second showing checking in at 10.50 on the 30th December but it was listed as Enchantment Fireworks party. They must be going to have fireworks twice that night and obviously 31st December as well. Just no idea which fireworks it will be!

Do you think there will be a dessert party for the midnight NYE countdown?

I have a Treats and Seats ADR for Dec. 30 at 10:50 PM, which I assume is for the New Year’s Eve Eve midnight fireworks show. Don‘t know if they ever loaded Treats and Seats or other dessert parties for a midnight showing on Dec. 31.

Despite that posting from that online source, the Disney calendar still has no listing for NYE (midnight) fireworks in either MK or Epcot. It's December 2. I'm getting nervous.

Yeah, me too. I'm going to proceed with the trip regardless because it's too late to book anything else.

Game on! A few days ago California Grill announced a very expensive NYE party that promised midnight fireworks. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/contemporary-resort/california-grill/

Now, finally, the official calendar has been updated to reflect Fantasy in the Sky on 12/30 and 12/31 at 11:50 pm and “countdown” fireworks at EPCOT on 12/31 at 11:54.
Excellent. Fantasy in the Sky on 12/30 and 12/31 at 11:50. Super glad they're doing it. A little (okay, a lot) bummed about the early show being Enchantment instead of Fantasy in the Sky as in years past, but hey, it's better than nothing!

Does anyone know why the description of the EPCOT NYE firework says "only at EPCOT"? Does that mean Fantasy in the Sky won't include the countdown at the end? Or are they just referring to the fact that there won't be a countdown at HS? I am confused...

Anyone know if it matters where you view from? Assume anywhere in the main core area should be good but don’t know how relevant it is for this one? My kids are too short to enjoy enchanted from Main Street, but that’s just because of castle projections.

Well if you go tomorrow don’t make the mistake I did. We ended up off to the left side of the castle with what we thought was a clear view of the castle. Daughter ate too much so started fussing she couldn’t walk for like an hour…so we avoided the main crowds. Apparently she ate some stuff after the evening nap I was unaware of so I didn’t see it coming. Then when the fireworks started the fireworks were back to the left nice and low…right behind a tree. Then off to the right also behind a tree…barely saw anything. Horrifying. Turns out even though they look right above the castle and very high, when up close they are much lower than expected and pretty far back…Just stake out a center location, if you are reading this. Total disaster for us. Would probably come back tomorrow to do it right except we rented swan and dolphin specifically to walk back after epcot…so…yea. Yikes.

How was the view?

Sadly, I don't know because my husband fell ill within five hours of arriving at our hotel (not COVID) and we went home early. He's perfectly fine now, thankfully! I will say the staff at the emergency room at the hospital in Celebration are very nice. And Disney 100% refunded everything that could be refunded (Universal charged us cancellation fees).

I’m sorry to hear that :(
