New Years Eve Epcot Questions

We do Christmas every year at WDW, but this is the first year we are staying through NYE. Super excited to experience it all!

We will be there too. Right now I have planned for all of our FP before lunch so we can spend some time walking around WS before all the parties begin. We haven't been there for a while so we'd like to see the WS during the day... I hear the atmosphere is completely different that night with all the parties. We have a 6pm ressie for Via Napoli. I was planning afterwards finding a spot and sitting with a blanket the rest of the night. DH has knee problems so walking around for that long just isn't going to work. I would do FPs after dinner so we could show up a bit later, but I'd hate to have to walk between WS and FW multiple times in those crowds. Hoping our plan goes well... any advice?

We'll be at Epcot NYE too! We're using our fast passes earlier in the day at Animal Kingdom, and then we're planning on going back to the resort to relax...then head to Epcot that evening. We booked that NYE dinner event at La Hacienda.
