New Year's Eve Dinner

Since New Year's is right around the corner it's making me think about planning a Disney trip for next year. (Going to have an annual pass after this year so it's much too late to plan for now)

I was trying to look at what was offered this year to get an idea. Does anyone know if California Grill is doing something special or you just book a normal dinner there? I saw there is a party being held at the contemporary in the ballroom. Is anyone doing this? I'd love to hear reviews.

Are there dinner packages offered inside the parks (Either Magic Kingdom or Epcot) that offer prime viewing of the fireworks at Midnight? I've never been this time of year because I've heard the crowds are insane so not really sure if I want to go inside a park for the countdown to midnight. A resort spot within firework viewing might be a better option.

Has anyone done this in the past that would like to share? Or someone who's going this year who could tell me how it went when you get back?

Thank you!

It's a special event with a fixed price. I think Rusty has it listed in his dining sticky at the top of the dining page. I would love to try it sometime. I saw the 4th of July fireworks from the CG and it is one of my all time greatest Disney experiences. NYE would be just as amazing, if not more so. Be ready to jump on it the moment ADRs open up.

1) No "normal dinner" on NYE.
2) How much money is in your vacation budget for NYE?
3) If you have a lot, double it and you can afford to go to Cali Grille on New Year's Eve.
4) The 2016 price for NYE is $650 per adult and $650 per child, and would be higher in 2017.

Well that's outrageously expensive lol.

I've eaten dinner there before so I could only imagine how nice it would be to watch from there. The New Year's crowds scares me a little, I might not be ready for a Disney New Years yet

So you pay $650 and alcohol isn't included? I guess you're paying for the view
I must have been mistaken. Or it's changed since last year. "a complimentary Call Brand Bar and wine poured by the glass up until the clock strikes midnight."

Well that makes the price a little better. Not sure I could drink $650 worth of alcohol and make it to midnight lol. Probably will need to think of a cheaper New Year's option
