Since this trip was not really planned, (we are thrilled!!) I need some dining options for New Years Eve. Anyone have any suggestions that won't cost an arm and a leg? This will be with me, DH, 3 kids DS 20, DD 16, DD 9. We would like a nice place with some fun!

P.S. Staying at the Swan!!
Thanks Guys!;)

Do you want to spend the evening eating somewhere or "partying" at WDW? If you want to enjoy the parks, I wouldn't worry too much about eating. Either plan to grab something on the run from counter service or plan to go to one of the sit-down restaurants in the park and take a break to last you until midnight. (Make PS as soon as you can.)

Epcot, in particular, might appeal to your group. They have all kinds of music happening in every country. You can get drinks in Epcot or MGM but the MK is "dry", even for NYE.

Not sure what I want to do! I was thinking maybe a PS at Hollywood & Vine for dinner (one of our favorites!) and stay at MGM for the evening. From what I have *heard* around here, MK is not the place to be because of the crowds. Not even sure what kind of passes we will have, since this trip was totally unplanned. So maybe even one of the resort restaurants? Its SO exciting planning though!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

We were there last NYE and will be again this year. We had PS at Teppanyaki for 7:30 and we waited almost an hour because it started to pour and everyone came in early. It still was a great meal. We think we might try tht Rock and Roll party at Epcot(its between UK and Canada). Heard alot of folks say it was fun. DS did not want to try it last year. We started the day at MGM and toured with no problem (use those FP!) and left for Epcot at 5:00pm. Entered at IG and it was very crowded! They gave our noise makers and hats! We did not stay until the fireworks because we were ankle high in water and no signs of stopping! Hope weather is better this year!

We would be interested in the Rock and Roll party too! We are at the Swan (aren't you too Connears?) Kids are 20, 16 and 9. Would it appeal to all? Even the young 40 something old folk like me? lol

Rock and Roll is billed as fun for all. I know that last year the Swan/Dolphin had a similar event with dinner and games and music for all ages. I assume that the one at Epcot has stuff for everyone..you can also leave the party and enter the park then return to the party! We are 40 something and DS is 13.

Do you call Disney Dining for the Epcot party? Can you make Holiday reservations earlier than the 90 days? It just sounds interesting and organized! There is nothing worse than going around looking for somewhere to eat. I can get sooo cranky;)

We are going to make an early PS at the Japanese restaurant in Epcot. Then we are going to stroll around the WS. It will be very crowded so make sure you have a PS.

The Epcot party was advertized on wdwig.com and the Swan/Dolphin party was on their website and wdwig.com also. It was much later and closer to mid-fall.
