Hi. I have seen information about a beach bash on New Year's Eve at Fort Wilderness but can't find anything about 2025. Does anyone know if they're doing it and any details?
Thanks. .

Well, at best @El Guapo , the special events at the Fort like that (and like Halloween for example) don't come out until about 2-3 weeks before hand.

But if it's been a historical event (which I don't track) in the past then chances are it will occur again. The Fort has many events that occur annually (golf cart parades, beach bashes, so on) that occur as expected.

Granted, nothing is official until we see it in print. But this was the previous year (2023) calendar for that time frame from our friends at magicalresortguide.com :

Please party for the rest of us old folks. I'll likely wake up on 1/1/25 and will want to read about your exploits on 12/31/24.

We'd all like to have a 2-3 months heads-up about these kinds of events but that's not the way things work. Sorry.

I like the monthly activity guide posted at the resorts and also included with paperwork when you check in . Nowadays we aren’t supposed to check in at the front desk …but when you arrive at the Welcome Center they usually ask for your ID and will give you the map and probably the activity guide.
Will you be staying at the new DVC Cabins on NYE?

I’m currently wondering about the decorations such as the holiday lights for the inside & outside of the new cabins. I had planned to decorate but can’t imagine hanging anything inside the new interior.
I almost wish they offered a Disney Service to deliver the decorations and install them ! But probably couldn’t afford it.
Does anybody have any suggestions for these questions .
If you are staying I know to rent a golf cart in advance and probably schedule the holiday sleigh ride too .

Thanks! We have a large group of extended family so I was trying to figure out if this party includes food or drinks and what the cost is.

Oh, these kinds of beach bashes don't include food and drinks (unless it's the donut eating contest) and no cost involved. It's probably a DJ, some games or contests, and so forth. Our poster @amcc has been to the Fort around New Years, I think, and maybe she knows. It's free entertainment and not a meal.

The NYE bash is so much fun! It's free - there's a DJ, a donut eating contest, games while everyone just enjoys the night. You have a view of Magic Kingdom fireworks. There's a food truck to grab food. We usually go a few hours before and set up our chairs. The vibe is chill, laid back, people of all ages enjoying. It's our favorite way to spend NYE (although unfortunately I took too long to make reservations and there are no sites left :guilty: )

Allie, I'm speechless! :scared:

If you're not our correspondent for New Years then I guess I'll just have to go to sleep early on 12/31 before midnight.

Although, I bet it would be fun to just set up a couple folding chairs on the fringe of the beach bash party and soak up the vibe.

Do I remember correctly that one of your sons in a past year won the donut eating contest? You and DH must have been SO proud. (that's why I mentioned that topic in my reply to @El Guapo ).

PS - Truth be told, I'm getting too old to stay up that late anyway.

Yes, @bama_ed, my son reigned as donut-eater supreme for one year. It was epic. And we won a raffle one year that included nice FW stemless wine glasses. We actually do set up on the fringe of the party, all the way out to the right and out of the heavy crowd. We can venture in for a game or dance off, then retreat back to our (provided by us) wine and cheese. NYE at the Fort really is one of the greats at WDW. Other resorts have parties too, but the campground atmosphere with families with all ages, the beach, the MK fireworks, hearing the MK DJ during lulls in the Fort's music, all for $0 additional?!! It's the essence of what WDW is.
