New Year's Eve at Disneyland

May have an opportunity to be at Disneyland on New Year's Eve. Anyone know if there is any special celebration?

They hand out hats and have a countdown at midnight, then fireworks.

I went once, many years ago. The park was at capacity so it was insanely crowded. They handed out hats and noise makers. Teens in line kept blowing the noise makers in everyone's ears. Hopefully they stopped handing though out though.

There are different things that happen in both parks for NYE, but I've only experienced it DL. I've been in front of the castle many years & it is seriously packed! There is a small stage show w/ some singers & sometimes characters will come out too. When the performers are not out, a DJ will play music & all this obviously happens before the countdown. There are also other places w/ DJs like by IASW & TLT. I believe the Plaza Pavilion has a live jazz band so ppl can dance on the dance floor. Last year, I was by the Rivers of America & they had musicians (not the ones you'd see everyday @ DL) on a raft floating along the river.

We have been going for the last 10 years on NYE and it defiantly is at full capacity, but it is amazing to experience.

Disneyland stays open until 2 am and CA Adventure until 1 pm. In the past all the parades, Fantasmic and firework shows are all running, then at midnight both parks have firework countdown as well as all kinds of bands and dj's playing in various places. My favorite place is in front of Its A Small World.

I agree that the noisemakers are annoying and I hope they wont have it this year.
