New Year's Eve at CityWalk with Minors

Can minors be at Universal CityWalk on New Year's Eve (with parents) at midnight? Is that a bad idea? Are there better ideas for families that don't have park tickets for NYE?

I have absolutely nothing useful to help answer your question, but at first I misread your post title as "New Year's Eve at CityWalk with Minions" and thought a Minions themed NYE party at Universal sounded like a strange idea, but also a potentially fun idea.

I hope someone can can actually answer your question and help you plan an enjoyable trip with the kids.

FWIW, it's a little more adult oriented than Disney parks.
I've seen some pretty erotic behavior/attire both cast and guest in past NYE. Pre-rona.
There are plenty of kids there.
The kids with us were unfazed and mostly danced til they got tired then sat with us and had hot chocolate.
