Anjelica, the first page list has only basic info about the Magic Mateys (us!) If you have time during the coming countdown year, I think it's a cool idea for us to have a website for more detailed info. How nice of you to offer!
If it's too much work for you, no worries, we'll make due. But a website with all the info wold be easier to access than searching through all these pages. By the time we cruise, with the way we've been posting, we're going to have thousands of pages!!!!:rotfl: Aisling I think you are right on that!!!! and a website would be very cool:yay:
Debbie, wow, you're gonna be a busy girl this week! Good for you! I'd like a trip report on your bar outing with your friend!;) :thumbsup2

Nan, if you're reading, please let us know how your mom is doing!

Does anyone know when Kaz (Karen) is coming home from her cruise? I can't wait to hear how her vow renewal went. Kazzie, please post some pics!!! I thought her last post to Colleen said they returned to port either Thursday a.m. or maybe it was this a.m. & their flight back to the UK was the same day, so they didn't have a chance to meet with up with Colleen....

I'm making a public call for tennis fanatics on our cruise, so I can tell Mel he'll have an instant friend on board!!!

To our lurkers, come on and jump in!

Debbie - have an awesome weekend!!! sounds like fun....i'm doing the whole "bar hop" thing in a few wks up at Santana Row in SJ (have you ever been there?) just more of the birthmonth celebration :woohoo:

Happy Friday to everyone else out there....

:wave2:

another typical weekend for us, tonight is home football game so will be there cheering on the marching band - tonight is 8th grade night - all the kids in the middle school bands come, march up from school to stadium with band, they get to sit with the band on the field and they will march out and play with band at half time

Then funeral in the morning, then zip from there to marching band practice, and we have a tail gate party with band and then load them up for band competition tomorrow night,

Sunday - homework and swim practice

Have a good weekend all

:)

Football night for us too...last Friday night he happened to get 'caught on camera" for the local news stations coverage of HS "Operation Football". Fortunately DH remembered to Tivo for me since i was having FUN in NYC!!!! Tomorrow we have my niece & nephew for the weekend which is always fun while their parents go to Vegas to celebrate their 18th anniversary. DS has "back to school" dance - so he'll be meeting his 'friend' Jessica there. Sunday....nothing much scheduled....so just hang out with the kids & probably a few loads of laundry....and MAYBE i'll have some time to upload all the photos from NY~

I always wished either of my boys would have been interested in the marching band. I guess it's because where I went to school, we didn't have one, and I always wanted to be in one! But one studied piano, and the other is big-time into guitar, so that's one dream down the drain! :rotfl: Only kidding! They're my pride and joy!

Chad and Louise are at Radio City Music Hall for the Wheel of Fortune Show. The show is doing it's 25th anniversary tapings, and Louise is Wheel fan, so they just had to take advantage of the taping being in town.

Tonight, everyone will be out, so I'll have time alone to do my online window shopping, for cruise things, of course!

There's a Jeep excursion in Coz that Chad wants to do, so he's making it his mission to learn to drive a stick. Jesse want to do the dune buggy thingie, but he won't be old enough to drive it, so that'll probably change his mind when the time comes.

Off to do some errands. BBL!

Tell Jesse that we did the dune buggy thing AND the JEEP excursions looked like WAY MORE FUN!!!!! the excursion is almost the same exact trip but the the jeeps were in way better shape & had MORE SPEED!!!!:woohoo:

This is from Nan's husband on 9/27

HI ALL:

Mom is out of surgery and I will see her in about an hour. The surgery went well and fast. There was no involvement of the lymph node, YIPEEEEEE!!!!

Here heart had gone back into normal rhythm, but we just heard that she went back into aphib (sp). She is in recovery now and things are good.

More update later as I get more info.

Thank you so much for the prayers keep ‘em coming,

Nan

(from Paul’s laptop)

I think Nan had asked us to update her "repo" cruise thread...has anyone done that? If not, i can.....

Just bumping us back to page 1.

Spent the day ripping up our basement carpet. We're going to have ceramic tile put down...much cleaner and much nicer appearance. It's actually a beautiful finished basement, but the style needs updating. My brother does tile work, so I only have to pay for the materials, which will save us a bundle.

Anyway, I'm going to say good night, and wish you all sweet dreams!

Is this gown too dressy for formal night?

dsp_img_0996.jpg

Tig, here's a sort-of empire waisted gold gown. Do you like something like this?

bd09_(2).jpg

Aisling...love those two dresses (there wasn't one showing up for Tigg)....
have fun updating the basement....we really need to do some work in our garage (you know we don't have basements out here).....

here's a link to some of the photos from last week's NYC trip....

PS - I googled Nan's mom's name last night - just to see if there was anything posted anywhere to get an update...but nothing came up....that too could be GOOD news...

Hi gang,

I have a nauseating headache, and I just took Tylenol, so I expect to feel better soon. I don't often get headaches, and when I do, I'm such a baby. I really get miserable. I had a bit of a stressful day. I was a little snippy with Chad today, nothing serious, but he made a comment that maybe it was time for him to move out. He really said it without meaning it, I know, but it hurt just the same. When the day comes that he does move out, I want it to NOT be because he wants to get away from me. I don't know, it might be PMS, but I'm feeling really sensitive tonight. I do so much for my family, I sacrifice to make their lives as easy as possible, and sometimes I feel like no one even sees me. I feel like I could use a good cry, but I can't because I'm not ready for bed yet, and I don't want to break down in front of my family. Mama has to be the strong one, and so I'll be.

I keep thinking of one of my favorite songs: "When I'm stuck in a day that's gray and lonely, I'll just put out my chin, and grin, and say the sun'll come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow, there'll be sun."

Well, I'm grateful to have an outlet here among my friends to release some feeling. I'm not having a pity party, don't worry, I'll be better in the morning.

I'm sorry to be a downer. I'm ok, nothing to worry about. Just one of those days. Wishing you all a peaceful night. Get home safe from WDW, Tiggie, we missed you here!

First, thank you for the kind words over the past few days.

Brenda , LYMI (yes we'll have to give you that whole story soon) (anyone got the link to that trippie report) Thank you for letting the repo thread know what was up. Email is so much easier for me that posting on a website, so telling my closest what's up that way just makes better sense to me, knowing that you'll pass it along.

As you all know my mom had her surgery on Thursday and wonderfully we learned that her lymph nodes were not involved.

She is now staying at the skilled nursing section of her retirement community. She is unable to keep track of what is needed thru out the daily care routine post-op due to her dementia, so until her drains are removed and she is back to “normal” we feel safer knowing she is under 24 hour care. We expect her to move back to her apartment toward the end of the next week.

She is having moments that are not so good. (she called me yesterday at 7am claiming all around her were crazy and she was packing up and leaving if I helped her or not, then hung up on me) Of course she doesn’t remember this when I and my sisters (#3 & #1) arrived within the half hour to make sure she was ok.

Next week she will have the drains removed and move back home.

With in the following 2-4 weeks I’ll meet with her cardiologist to try to sort out what we will do for the heart issues. Most likely Cumadin but that has it’s downside too for someone who is prone to falls, as she is.

I think I’ll need to continue to be involved with her care issues daily for the next period of time (who knows how long that is) and frankly I’m fatigued thinking about it. But such is my place and role in our family.

I’m reading along with you, but still finding it hard to join in the daily chatter, but I’m here so don’t forget to say hi when you think of me.

EXCEPT!!!! I want those gold dress, okay I want to look like those women in those gold dresses....and Molly got the AG black and gold one I posted before. It really is much softer fitting on than it looks in the picture I posted.

Nan

p.s.s. If and of course this is a big if...Paul is rumbling that he may not want to take this cruise so soon after the repo, so if mom is well enough, I might just swap him out for her. Maybe just mom and the kids and me. Just thought I'd let you know what chatter is going on with the hubby and me on this front, so don't be shocked, if yes....my husband bails on me on the cruise too.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: we need a club for this don't we???:rolleyes1

Oh Aisling...it's always a sad thing when your children move out...with Jennifer...it was very bittersweet...she REALLY needed to move out on her own in order to learn what real life was / is about but it was very sad as well. Now that it has been 6 years....all is well & and she really did learn alot!!! Hope that Tylenol kicks in & you do feel better real soon

Oh you're welcome for the post to the repo thread...and SOOOOO glad that the surgery went so well....each and every day will just be a better day as she recovers! She is SOOOOO lucky to have you near by to help her....

Yes we DO need a club....Dale can be President just for the simple fact that he won't even consider cruising....at least Paul has gone & is going again...i forget though if Mel & John have cruised before....????

We're always here if you / when you need us. We understand how crazy busy your life must be right now....we'll have to make a date for sometime in the future to hit the city....to find us a 'gold gown'....

Tigg should be getting home sometime soon & I think Kaz must be home too...sure she's having a bit of jet lag & unpacking just to repack;)

Hi everyone!

We arrived home yesterday morning and I'm feeling a little spacey but not too bad! We had an amazing, wonderful time and can't wait to return next year!!! The CMs treated us so well and made our vacation even more special. We met some fab DiSfolk and shared our dining table with 2 wonderful couples that we'd linked our reservations with. The Vow Renewal was perfect for Richard and I - very romantic and yet full of fun. I'll be doing a trip report with photos when I get back from WDW...

Hope you're all well. That's good news about your Mom, Nan - hang in there, we're thinking of you...

Aisling, glad to see you're still giving us gold dress options - love the low backed style but pretty sure my Spanx undies would be peeking over the top and that can't be a good look! Hope your headache's cleared up this morning and Chad's remark hasn't hurt you too much. IME throwaway comments hurt so much more than the person realises and rest assured it wasn't meant to upset you, he was just reacting to the situation.

Brenda, glad your NYC trip went well - great photos! :thumbsup2 I'm definitely up for a Girls Only NYC trip in 08/09 - I need photos with Captain Jack!!! Today I am indeed washing my vacation clothes, ironing and promptly re-packing - it's the only way... ;)
