I know about asking for ketchup and refills, I've never heard of the three you mentioned, I am almost afraid to ask ;)

Betsy's grandsons will be with us, which do you recommend I ask in front of children under ten?

Have the KIDS ask!
But if you have a male server, have an adult lady ask him if you can ride his horsie! PLEASE Tiggie, this one is a hoot!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I read on another thread that this is a drink served on the Magic. Sounds yummy!
Summer Solstice
2 1/2 oz raspberry vodka
1 oz Cointreau (or can sub Triple Sec)
1 oz Rose's Lime juice
1/2 oz cranberry juice
1/2 oz orange juice

Combine ingredients, shake bigorously, and strain into a chilled martini glass. Float both an orange slice and a maraschimo cherry to garnish.

Kaz, I can see we're destined to be BFF!:rotfl:
And lucky you; you'll be doing the Single Digit Dance soon!
We definitely are! Yep the SDD commences tomorrow! And I still haven't finished my shopping/preparation - actually I haven't even started most of it!

...What is the Stem to Stern?
It's the onboard wine-tasting seminar! Sophie and I did it on our 3 night Wonder cruise back in May 2005 and it was great fun... Hope to do it on our VR day this time around... :rotfl2:

...We're going to be some silly broads on this cruise! OMG "broads" sounds so OLD. Let me rephrase, [Inspired By Brenda]: We're going to be some silly chics on this cruise! Much better!
I kinda like 'broads' - it's reminds me of all those old American films with Humphrey Bogart and the like! You have to say it with what I imagine is a NY accent tho'. We don't have a similar expression in the UK, as far as I'm aware... :goodvibes

Morning all...have been sooo busy preparing for tonite's "Italy planning trip" meeting at the school AND my Creative Memories event this weekend have had little time to DIS...but all caught up now...

Aisling...you definitely know where to shop! LOVE some of those dresses!!!

Kaz....i've not tried the Stem to Stern....but sounds FAB-U- LOUS....might have to work that in to the NYE cruise....i have a feeling with all you fun & crazy "chickies" i may drink more on this cruise than i do in a year!!:lmao: :lmao:

:woohoo: :woohoo: One week from today and i'm in the air soaring to NYC:woohoo: :woohoo:

Aisling - the Stem to Stern is the wine tasting. I have done this before and LOVED IT.. The time I did it, it was in Sessions, and they gave you a wine tasting pin at the end. The last cruise I went on, I couldnt fit it in (4 night cruise) and that one was held in Palo. On the 4 night cruise, Brian and I did the Martini tasting, and that was good!!!

LOVE those dresses.. both that you posted for me!! Couldnt make out the little princess dress.

The one you posted for Princess Piper was ADORABLE!!!

I did the Tea in Palo twice, once w/an ex bf, and once w/my girlfriend (we used to travel all the time together as single girls.. now we are both married and havent been able to coordinate a trip w/the 4 of us) The tea was fun, and you get these little fancy finger sandwiches (or at least you used too) then you get scones and such..

Oh it was fab, Brenda! :thumbsup2 The 'piece de resistance' was at the end when the head sommelier opened a bottle of champers - with a sword!!! :scared1:

And I even managed it myself when I returned home - no sword of course but a normal dinner knife did the trick! It's now my party piece... :lmao:

I only did it for the pin, Kelly but it was a really fun event... :thumbsup2

Hey Cadznychc... if you like wine.. and socializing, you would love the Stem to Stern. Last time I did it (2003) it was $12/person (completely reasonable!!) and they had this sheet in front of you w/all your wine glasses on them and ea. glass was on a circle that had the type of wine you would be tasting. They would explain the wine, and what you were looking for as they came around. They also demonstrated how a champagne bottle can be opened w/a sword.. that was pretty cool.. apparently there is a seam on all glass bottles that are the weakest point.. and they simple swooshed the sword up the seam toward the top lip.. and off it went... I am pretty sure that was followed by a DONT TRY THIS AT HOME KIDS!!

I liked it in Sessions.. those nice big soft seats by the portholes.. very fun!

Custardtart.. How funny.. I was just putting in a post about the sword and champagne bottle.. I have been too chicken to try it myself.. LOL..

Just the pin you say!?!?!?! why do I find that hard to believe?? :rolleyes1 lol.. I thoroughly enjoyed that class.. and felt that I was a wine expert when I left.. oh.. and that could be bc I was a bit TIPSY at that point!!! :rotfl:

TOO bad i haven't done this before....since i am the one who is coordinating the Dinner / Wine / Auction fundraiser for DS' high school raising $$ to send these kids to Italy next summer.....the whole wine knowledge thing would probably be useful!!!!

HeyGuys
don't forget to talk about the castaway members party

Yes.. Love that party.. on the last cruise (Halloween 2006 4 night) the place was packed and we had one of those sheets w/things you needed to find a CM who had done XYor Z and sometimes a fellow Castaway Cay Member... It was a lot of fun, but HECTIC!!!

CustardTart - The Italy trip sounds nice.. I have never been to Italy, I have been to England, France, Portugal and Spain.. but not Italy.. YET!!!

How much was the Stem to Stern in 2005?? wonder if the price has gone up since I did it last in 2003.

Wow, are all of us CCC Members? Wouldn't that be a special night ;)

My fav part was the free drinks~

The food (appetizers) were good too...

Aisling, you are getting closer with the last dress...

I could totally get away with off the shoulders~

How would the wine tasting be for someone who really doesn't care for wine?

I loves the Port that Nan and Paul brought on the cruise but I think that's cause it tasted like Brandy...me likey some brandy~

The Martini tasting is more up my alley, as long as I could order mine with Vodka and not gin~

Aisling, I wrote down all your WCC questions and will be sure to try them...I'm thinking the video camera would be a better selection for this meal ;)

Who's gonna do the Galley Tour?

(I read that that one is free :) )

Nan, you did that one, is it worth you going twice?

We could be dangerous on any tour together, who's up for wreaking some havoc :lmao:

Can you find Tigg

Pretty sure it was still $12 per head in May 2005. Will check the price next week and report back! :woohoo:

Looking forward to making my way to the Castaway Club party - it'll be my first time! party:

OMG!
You have all been so busy chatting and shopping. I love the dresses, can I have my choice of bodies as well? I love to show off the Girls but I'm finding that I am now getting that old lady chest,:sad2:so low cut is out of the question. Jeff and Aaron are going to be wearing a tux, and so that we don't have to pack them we will prob order from DCL. It would be so great if we all had the same dining rotation but I think this routy group party: will need to tip our servers big.

You all sound like you are doing wonderfully and your trips all sound like so much fun. Jeff and I are going to Montery and San Simeon for the weekend and I'll try and post some pictures next week.

Hey Debbie! Great to hear from you! :goodvibes Have a lovely weekend...

Am I right in thinking we can request the same dining rotation? Does anyone know how that would work? Also, as a group of 7, we're happy to occupy our own table but would love to be seated near everyone else - any ideas if this would be feasible??? Ah well, something to think about... :rolleyes1

Alls I know is we need to link our ressies to guarantee being in the room together for our dining rotation. Our group was 13 last year and I know Grim and Dede have added 1 and I will be +1 if Mel comes he will be another one plus Brenda and Ryan are 2, that's 18. They can seat 20 at the most at one table. With Debbie's 3 plus your 7 that's another half a table...

mind you this is only the person count off the top of my head~
