Hi there everyone, just in the tentative planning stages for a trip out to Disneyland, maybe around New Years Eve/first week of January. Can some of you SoCal residents or Dis'ers who traditionally travel to DL at that time tell me what I can expect of the weather. We went once in March and it was low 70's/high 60's with very little rain. We have also been in early December but only stayed for a couple of dys and the weather was similar. I have been reading that it is rainy season and I would consider going in March instead if I thought it was going to pour everyday and be in the high 40's/low 50's (fine with sun, not so fine with rain!) Can anyone advise me? Thanks in advance...

Statistically it is not likely to rain. Your biggest chance of getting wet will be on Splash Mtn or GRR...;)

Yes, statistically your chances are good that it won't rain but obviously there are no guarantees. It was also statistically unlikely that it would rain on the Rose Parade when we went to see it in 2006 (it hadn't rained on the Rose Parade for 51 years!) but it not only rained, it POURED! Not trying to be a downer, just making the point that you never know this far out what the weather will be like.

OMG!OMG!OMG! I totally forgot about the Rose Parade!!!! I have always wanted to go to it and now that we are "thinking" about SoCal for New Years it may be a dream come true!!!! THANK YOU Lavender Peach!TYTYTYTy for answering the question! and thanks to you HydroGuy for the humor-I will always willing get drenched on Splash Mountain!

I'm guessing from your moniker that you're an islander, and from one born & raised to another my advice would be to take turtlenecks, jeans, jackets, etc. Only went for one New Years, and it was not wet but it was COLD!
My Bay Area friends thought I was a wuss, but in the evenings it was definitely very chilly, particularly when we're used to 60 degree nights, (that year I think it was in the 40's at night) so layer up and enjoy the lights/decorations!

Well, since the OP asked if they would get wet, the only answer one can give at this point is the statistical answer isn't it? Unless Madame Leota's crystal ball can enlighten us. ;)

Lol, no i know, I just can't help thinking about how hard it rained that particular new year's day since OP was asking about that time period.

Alohamom, yes you should try to go to the rose parade if it works out for your schedule. And/or you can also go see the floats up close for a few days after the parade. If you want tickets to sit in the stands, you should look into it now because i think you have to buy those really early. In fact, i was thinking they might start selling them in March or April.
