Just a quick trip note, not WDW but think you will all enjoy this..
For Christmas, Santa brought my DH and I tickets to the sold out New Year's Day opening of Beauty and The Beast at the KC Zoo Imax theatre. All the DS declined, so a romantic overnite to KC ensued.
The Theatre was packed, completely sold out, all children under two sat on laps(non ticket holders) There had been a Kansas City short movie before Fantasia, so I was waiting for that, imagine my surprise when the familliar Lion King strains filled the air, and the awesome sunset filled the massive screen. This preview was the complete Circle of Life song, and the huge picture absolutely enveloped you. Didn't think I would ever be jazzed by yet another version of the Lion King, but you can bet dollars to donuts we'll be there next New Years day 2003. (boy, are we getting old!)
B&B started just after the final gasp of the audience at the end of the song. DO NOT MISS THIS PICTURE ON IMAX! The landscape and countryside scenes truly make you feel the old "cinerama" style movie, and I cannot tell you how absolutely joyful I felt watching them Dance in the Ballroom. All the Castle scenes truly were magnificent, and gave you the feeling of really being inside. The sound was terrific, gave you a tremble right in the pit of your stomach...and at some 2 stories high, no one truly stomps like Gaston!!!
We made the rest of the trip Disney by eating at Joes Crab Shack with all the singing and dancing at the tables, then found a nice motel and spent the eveing lounging in the hot tub, and watching the rebroadcast of the Rose parade on HGTV!
Not WDW..but close enough!!!
Don't miss this Movie!!
Have a Disney Day,
kay
