so here's the deal. If my brother's college football team makes it to the Rosebowl, my family is going to cali as well for all the fun (he is in the band). This would include a day or two at disneyland! I have been to disney world 4 times, but never disneyland and I am so so so excited and have never cared this much about college football EVER! (or at all!)

So, here are some questions for you experts-

1.) Is there transportation to DL from hotels in Pasedena? How hard is it to get from there to DL?

2.) How insane are the parks new years eve/day? I know its a holiday so I'm expecting large crowds.

3.) As a disney world vet, what should I expect from DL?

I feel like I had more but maybe they'll come up later. Everything is still up in the air depending on if they even make the rose bowl. Also, my grandparents may be meeting us there, and they are huge disney fanatics so this trip may end up being extended to longer than 1.5 days :) Thanks everyone!

We've been to DLR a couple of times on New Year's Eve, and the crowds are heavy. They can reach capacity early, which means they'll stop letting people into the park. We like to get there around 11am to make sure that we won't be turned away. So once you're in, stay in. :)

Lining up on Main Street for the midnight celebrations start very early. People park on benches in mid-afternoon. If you don't get out there by about 10pm, you won't have a place to see anything. Standing for that long can be a pain, so we bring little foldable tripod chairs (less than one pound each) and they fit into our backpacks. They're also good for standing/sitting in other lines.

Once the midnight celebration ends and people start heading to the exit, you're caught in a river of people, and the direction in which you walk is not of your choosing.

I definitely recommend it. We'd be going again for New Year's Eve this year since that's how we tend to spend our New Year's Eve, but we have family flying in town.

1. I doubt any hotels in Pasadena would offer transporation to DLR because Pasadena isn't really that close to Anaheim. Renting a car would be the easiest way to get there.

2. I've never been on NYE but I can tell you that I've read many, many post from people who went and said "never again". Apparently, it's beyond crazy.

3. Read hydroguy's DLR guide for WDW vets: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1162599

Feel free to ask more questions as they come up! :)
