New Year Weekend 2 or 3 days?

I'm going to be at Disneyland from Dec. 28-Jan 1. Staying on property. I know this is prime time for large crowds...has anyone done DL/CA at this time? Need advice....Can we do CA and DL in 2 days or will it require 3 days. We normally do theme parks from open to close. Plus which park has the better New Year Eve celebration?

How often do you visit DL? We go a couple of times a year, and one of those times is New Year's. It is really really crowded, but you will be surprised at how much you can do if you arrive when the parks open! Two days may be enough if you had a trip not too long ago, or one coming up soon. I usually feel safer planning 3. Two days minimum if we are taking a a quick trip because we live about 7 hours away from resort. A full day for each park, and one extra to repeat your favorites and catch what you may have missed. Although I allow for a full day, I have never spent a full day in CA. We usually visit there in the afternoon after we have rode the popular attractions in DL, and then return to DL when CA closes. We are planning 3 full days when we stay on property this New Years! Bring warm clothes if you are staying in the parks late! Even though it is crowded, the energy is incredible! WE love it!

Thank you. Sounds like we are going to need 3 days then. Last DL trip was 1996 when kids were 4 and 6. We are more of the WDW veterns...we have done WDW every other yr. since 1987.

Oh I wish we could do WDW every other year!! We went this past summer and I just love it! I have been to WDW 4 times since 1993. Have fun planning your trip to DL!!
