I know no one knows. But what is opinion on will they have fireworks by then. I’m scheduled for the week after Christmas and really hoping they have the shows at night. Especially NYE.
Do you think night time shows will be back before parks have higher capacity?

I believe they will return. I have thought that having fireworks at Epcot spaces people appropriately and having them above seven seas lagoon too with the walkway between Poly, GF and MK being built. Lots of places they could have them publically. Do them in the lake around DS too.

I think so too. We are to be at Epcot NyE. Will
Be fun regardless. But I love nighttime shows and fireworks. Seems like they could space out fantasmic pretty easily too.

I hate being a pessimist, but I don't think they'll have fireworks for the rest of the year.
1 month ago, I'm pretty sure most people would have thought that all of the infections would be winding down at this point, yet now they are going up again. And with a resurgence possible late in the year, that might limit the parks attendance. And if parks and hotels aren't close to full capacity, it doesn't make financial sense to have fireworks.
So if they have no fireworks the rest of the year, then decide to have them for one night on NYE, imagine all the people trying to get in to view and watch them. I think it would be a nightmare for Disney.
That being said, I so hope i'm wrong!

If I had to guess, I doubt it. My suspicion is that fireworks will be back after social distancing is no longer a thing... So basically after a vaccine. Will we have that by NYE? I'm doubtful. My guess is they will back by next spring.

There is no way to know. It's possible, but unlikely imo. No one knows what's going to happen with Covid & society's reaction to it over time. The numbers could decline after these surges as long as distancing is maintained, but that's not the same thing as it really going away. That's like keeping a mad dog on a leash: it's still there ready to attack, as soon as the leash is removed. The precautions we're taking do slow the spread, which paradoxically means Covid will be with us longer. Quick vaccine optimists are counting on a good one being ready this winter, but I'll believe that when I see it.

At nearly 12K new cases a day I would not have too much hope on fireworks happening NYE.
