Does anyone know when this will be coming out and if anyone is doing a presale?

Funny! I was just looking into this today!

It comes out November 22.

Walmart had a presale but they've sold out of those. They say they will sell them at midnight on the 22nd though at their stores.

Best Buy and Circuit City might be doing a presale but they haven't started yet.

That's all I've got so far. My sister works for Microsoft so I may ask her what way she thinks is the best way to get it at a reasonable price...I don't want a bundle.

This game system will cost close to $700 I thought when PS2 first came out that was expensive.

I was able to get the new Ninetdo DS right before Christmas last year. I just happened to go to Best Buy the night before it went on sale. I had no idea my son wanted it until that night nor did I know when it would come out. The salesperson told me it came out the next day. I was there about 30 minutes before they opened. Yes it was a small line waiting to get in the door. Maybe about 25 of us but not all was there for that. I had no problem in getting mine. Now it sold out while I was there. But I walked out with one. I was only at the store for about 30 minutes. Come to find out they were just putting so many out at a time, so they did not sale out that quickly. I have to admit when I got there I grabbed everything I thought I might want and then took the time to look at it away from that area. I did not buy everything I grabbed and although I was greedy at first I did go back to that area and ask a guy that was behind me in line if he wanted any of what I was not buying prior to putting it back on the shelves.

This is the only thing my DS and DH has asked for so I know I will have to be there early to get one. I will go to Best Buy.

Approx pricing is $299 and $399. The higher price is for a larger bundle and more of the wireless and internet connector type items and the lower priced bundle is for a normal controler.

Pre-sales have been hot for the Xbox 360. Most places that have been take pre-orders have already sold out of their expected first shipments and are now making waiting lists. Not only that, but it is exceedingly difficult to find a non-bundled pre-sale. Most places are bundling the console with additional controlers, wireless connectors, games, Xbox LIVE subscriptions and extended warrranties.

The list price of the core system is $299.99 and the ramped up version with a 20GB hardrive, wireless controller and headset will set you back $399.99. That's if you can find an unbundled console. The release date is Nov. 22, 2005.

If you're looking to pre-order one for Christmas, you're probably already out of luck. But, places like Best Buy and Walmart did not take pre-orders and will have a limited supply in their stores on Nov. 22. Then there's always the eBay route, but expect to see highly inflated prices for anything that will be available before Christmas.

I was talking to the sales guy at Gamestop a couple of weeks ago and he told me that the new Playstation 3 that comes out early next year will be around $800.00 - WOW!!!

Yup, salesguy in Gamestop says they are putting a $1,000 processor in that new Playstation 3.

I just talked with DH about it, DS is only 10, I know Xbox is for a more mature person so I am not sure if we are going to try it now. I have always stirred away from the XBox so E might be out of luck this year. I am planning on doing the majority of my Christmas shopping at the end of this month anyway. I already have 3 things on layaway at Walmart. I am hoping this way I will not go over my budget again.

Yeah, the last time I saw any news about the release of the PS3 was saying that it would be released Fall 06. Now with the 360, you really need to do the research on it. If you have an Xbox already, I think you'd want to get the bundle with the harddrive included. Otherwise you would have to buy memory cards at about $50 each, just to save games. Also the $399 is a better deal since the harddrive alone is $100, so if you add on wireless controllers to the $299 one and a HD you're talking about $450 or over. I got this info out of a gaming magazine. I'm not going to get a 360 though, I'm waiting on the Revolution.

well, im a nintendo junkie (gotta have my mario and zelda)... and thats not coming out until next year sometime... but it'll be the cheapest, they always make their systems budget friendly. i think only $199.

Though the XBOX is sort of calling me... im a poor college student and really cant be buying it heh.

I preordered one from the costco website back in Sept. I think it was $635.00 for the 399 system with the memory and two controllers plus three games. I figure that is all DS is getting this year and that was the lowest priced bundle I had seen. About two weeks ago they had a bundle with just one game for 5 something.

MY DH works at Gamestop. Nobody lies to you. And most people do know what they're talking about as long as you ask the right person, like a manager, not some kid who makes $5.25/hr working part-time. The fact is they don't know much about the PS3 because there are no exact details on it yet. Sony wants to put all kinds of stuff in the PS3 like Blu-Ray dvd technology, etc. If they put everything they want into it, it will cost a lot more than $350. Do you think with all that technology they'll be able to make it less than $400, the price of the Xbox? It will at least be $400 as if to say "we can make it the same price as Microsoft's product," but it won't have all that stuff in it.

The PS3 will also not be out in the U.S. in April. That would be in Japan. The earliest you will see it here is Fall of '06, but most likely in '07. Gamestop can't even take pre-orders on it now.
