We are scheduled to stay at the new Worldmark Anahiem in three weeks, has anyone been there yet? What can we expect?

Yes! We actually stayed there from 11-1 to 11-5. Our friends are the 'owners' and we had a 2 bedroom condo on the 4th floor. It could actually sleep 6 as the couch converts to a pull out bed.

Our unit was large enough for the 4 of us, and the beds were quite comfy. They were 'higher' than our normal beds so I kinda had to schooch to crawl in at night (and I'm 5'7"). Both bathrooms were quite large and we had ample room to move about. Shower/tub combo, large sink/vanity and the toliet was away from both the sink and tub so you didn't feel like you were right up on everything.

Kitchen worked out great also. Regular size fridge/freezer combo, dishwasher, and ample counter space. There was also a bar/counter where we mostly stashed our daily junk once arriving back to our room at night. Unit also had a washer and dryer in there, so it made it easy if you needed to do laundry.

Living room had tv, stereo, and dvd player complete with 3 remotes (one for each), and there is a small balcony to stand out on for those who smoke.

Our only complaint was that this place has only one set of elevators for guests to use (2 separate units) and it makes it difficult when you're trying to get out the door in the morning. There is a service elevator but only can be used by housekeeping or employees. Since we were on the 4th floor, if we encountered a packed elevator we simply walked down the stairs.

We didn't get to use the swimming pools (there are 2 sets) one located on the main ground level with a kiddie pool for the tykes and a hot tub, and one other set on the rooftop. You can also view the fireworks from the rooftop.

The ART (Anaheim Resort Transit) bus picks up and drops off in front of the hotel, and the ticket machine is inside the lobby. Made it quite convenient. If you are planning consecutive days in the park, you may want to consider buying the multi-day pass. But, if you have a break somewhere and are going elsewhere, just buy as many days as you will use consecutively as the bus passes do not work like the park hopper tickets. We found this out after buying a 3 day bus pass only to have a day at Knotts right in the middle of our 3 days. We ended up buying an extra days ticket, but know better for next time. Bus passes are $4 per day, but you can use them unlimited times through out the day, not once per trip.

We would definately stay here again. Check in was slow in that we arrived on site at 3:15p on a Saturday and were told our room was not ready. We then went over to Von's to get our snacks and drinks, came back at 4pm only to be told our room still was not ready...we waited another 1/2 hour before they had finished our room. The front desk staff was very nice and even greeted us both leaving for the parks and arriving back again at night.

Hope you both enjoy your stay!

Thanks, but I have a few questions. I've never stayed at one of these places as our friends are the owners, but probably they will end up unable to join us. so, do you need basics like toliet paper and paper towels? do you need laundry detergent and dishwasher soap? I assume we need our own food, drinks and coffee.
Also, you said you went to Vons, where is it located?
thanks

As "Owners" I can tell you paper towels & toilet paper are provided. Some spices, enough coffee & filter for first pot of coffee, enough soap to do 2 loads (dishes & laundry). All the kitchen basics dishes, pots, pans, blender, ect., ect. should be there. Yes, you will need food & drink.

:goodvibes Directions to Vons: (It's very easy!)

From the Worldmark, go back out to Katella, turn right. Follow Katella up to Harbor Blvd, and turn left on Harbor. Stay in the left lane, go down about 3-4 lights (can't remember the exact number, but it's not that far down), and turn left on Chapman. There is a big Target on the corner in a shopping center, so if you miss the turn, use Target as your landmark. Turn left onto Chapman, and stay in the left lane. Go down about 3-4 blocks and it'll be on the left. When you see the Baskin-Robbins ice cream store, it's in that shopping center. You'll see the Baskin-Robbins sign before the Von's, but it's in the same shopping center, with Von's being back from the street.

Also, if you are a Safeway customer, Von's and Safeway are interchangeable. You can use your Safeway Club Card in Von's, or if you left it at home, use your home phone number and it'll give you the discount.

thanks for the info, I will be interested to hear your review of the place when you return. Since we are not owners and the owners we were going with are suddenly not able to go, I am playing catch up trying to plan. Any advice is appreciated.

Just returned from our week. It was nice, I liked the decor. We were in a 1bd. We had a room on the 10th floor facing Disneyland. The balcony is so small I was a little nervous standing on it at that height. All the areas in the condo are a good size. My biggest problem was the size of the Tub/Shower. It is a really good size bathroom with a narrow tub. We only had 1 dishwashing detergent but when I saw someone from housekeeping I asked & she gave us 2 more. We had 2 laundry detergents & that is all the laundry I want to do on vacation. The elevators are the worse part of the resort, as we were leaving I heard an employee of the management telling security to stay by the elevators to keep the crowds calm and make sure there was no overcrowding. Any questions & I'll be glad to answer them.

I almost forgot, they want you to rent a box at $4.95 a day for internet. I thought that was wrong, I actually lived without my internet for over a week. I wasn't sure I could.

thanks for the info, we leave next Tuesday. How far was it to DL? Did you walk or shuttle? Did you check out the pool was it warm? Trying to decide what to pack.

We drove to DL the first day, took the ART the other 2 days. Take the ART.
It was not in walking distance for us. Did not check the pool, but saw plenty of people go right in.
