I just joined today and I am so gald I was told about this sight. I have a few questions. We are planning a trip to DW sometime after the first of the year. Anywhere from 4 to 10 people. We will make it a 3 day pass at the parks over the weekend. We live in the Florida panhandle so are able to get the Fl. resisdent rate. Can you tell me the best time to go in Jan., Feb., or March when the prices are the best and the crowds are low! We are flexible. Also we have always stayed at the value resorts, taking advantage of the bus system. I heard about staying off grounds and some of those hotels give shuttle bus services to DW. Is this true? Would it be more cost effective to stay in a single room for 4 or to have a 3 bdrm suite for 10? Thank you.

Hello and welcome! Personally, I've stayed on and offsite, and we'll NEVER stay offsite again. Not worth the "savings". My only advise on which month, I wouldn't do March, as some states have their SPRING BREAK in March and it's BEYOND crowded. Our last trip was during SB and again, NEVER again!! I wish you luck in planning and enjoy the boards!:thumbsup2

Personally, I think the end of January would be best. I have stayed off site and I will never again do that. Yes, there were shuttles to the parks but the schedule isn't really condusive to everyone's schedule. I love the Disney transportation. Since you are only going for a long weekend type stay, stay at a value and get a few rooms...you aren't in the room long enough and won't have much luggage so space won't be a problem..there were 3 of us in August and we had more than enough room in our value...good luck planning and have a very magical time:)

At a value you can select a family suit if you have family/friends that would like to 'room' with. And of course, there are adjoining rooms as well. Stay away from the week of President's Day also. We did the first week of February and that was great. In January there is the Marathon Weekend (MLK Weekend?), so that might be another weekend to avoid. On site I went to correctly states that Disney has taken typically 'slow' times and created events to pull in the crowds.
