Probably whenever the release is for all the ships for that timeframe. It's usually around this time, but I suspect it may be a little later to give their agents and TAs a bit of a reprieve after the madness of initial Wish booking.

Just somethg from my thougts if poel are wondering if there might be double dip cruses to catway cay on the wish eventually. I don't really see it beong posable becuse they are going to be having 3 ships on the east coast. They typically only do them when they have two ships or 1 back when they only had the Magic and Wonder. Having the Dream in Miami and the Fantasy and Wish in Port Canaveral Castaway Cay is going to be very busy as each of those ships iternierares all have a one stop per cruise

2024 after new island is up and running. The different combinations on the different shapes will be very interesting

I wonder if once Lighthouse Point is operational if the shorter cruises may drop Nassau and just do those two stops. Nassau has become more and more unpopular, fewer people are getting off the ship, and Castaway is as popular as ever (which is a little surprising given the # of repeat cruisers and the fact it's just a beach). Maybe not the 3-day due to distance, but the 4-day?

I think you still pay port fees for Castaway right? I've heard people get a small refund when the ship can't dock there.

I think it would depend on if the Bahamian government would allow it they may have a requirement for them to make a stop in Nassau. Also something to keep in mind what you read on the dis is a much smaller group of people then who actually do sail on the Disney cruise ships so just going by what people post about how they don't get off at Nassau is probably a very small amount of people. With light house point i could see them doing it on a four day or five day cruise instead of a sea day but I don't think that it's likely that you would see a three night cruise stop at both lighthouse point and castaway Cay.

Nassau is currently undertaking a huge reconstruction of their port area. New shopping areas, an outdoor amphitheater, the artist renderings are quite beautiful. I doubt the Bahamian government will allow not stopping at the port.

I think most people get off at Castaway cay because its a much safer port than any of the others. My last cruise we stopped in Nassau. My parents stayed on the boat and kept my youngest, we took my older two (4 and 6) to Blue Lagoon for a dolphin encounter.

Well getting off the cruise ship they shuttled us right on to the island no problem, shuttle picked us up from the dock area. Blue lagoon was great, not at clean and nice as Castaway Cay but still nice. The problem came up when we were returning back. The shuttle that took us back dropped us in another spot on the way back.....they dropped us and immediately before you even got onto the dock we had people in our faces trying to sell us stuff. Not just like hey do you want to buy this but things shoved within inches of my face. I counted in the time it took us to get back to the boat I was harassed about getting my hair braided 18 times. All of this would have honestly weirded me out if I was alone....let alone having two small children there with us. To avoid some of the people in our faces we ended up in the straw market which could have been really cool if it was just my husband and I but its like we still had people following us which I really hope all they wanted was to braid my hair but it freaked me out enough that I will not under any circumstance get off in Nassau again with my kids. Blue Lagoon was great, but getting dumped off and how I felt after just really bothered me.

If you've never gone before to Nassau yes its an awesome place but I don't think I can do it with my kids. I was such a nervous wreck and after its like I still felt nervous for a while until my nerves calmed down

The only time we get off at Nassau anymore is if we are going to the Baha Mar for the day. Otherwise, we enjoy on board activities.

I just looked at the renderings of the new spaces and it looks great. I would definitely get off the ship to visit this area if it was restricted from the people trying to sell you things. I don't mind shopping and getting a drink to support the island's economy, but I just want to do it in a relaxed way at my pace. As it is now I usually don't get off the ship.

I think LHP is going to be the CC for the Miami cruises. Possibly a double dip trip from either PC or FtL or Mia. If you look at it, LHP is about the same distance from Mia as CC is to PC.

AFAIK, there is no such requirement to stop at Nassau. If there was, the Magic, Wonder and Fantasy would all be in violation. Not counting all of Royals, NCL, Carnival ships flagged in the Bahamas as well.
For a while, Disney was running to Freeport, but that didn't last long.

I was thinking of the Magic itineraries as well. The 7-night sailings from NYC stopped at CC but not Nassau. Really really really hoping they bring those back in 2022. Or any itinerary that stops at CC out of NYC, honestly.

I think what it comes down to, is that even though the ships are flagged in Nassau, the stop there is to satisfy the foreign port requirement for sailing from the US. Its a convenient close island.
I'm not sure what plans DCL has at the moment, as a lot of them were thrown out the window by the pandemic. But I thought I saw something about a DCL ship in NY in the future but could be wrong.

Aren't they flagged in the Bahamas? IE, not Nassau specifically?

On my first Disney cruise in 1999 on Magic, we were offered Speed in Nassau, and same as pp the amount of people offering to braid my hair, horse rides etc, was really off putting. Its a shame things obviously haven't improved in all those years. We never get off the ship in Nassau.

Plenty of cruisers look forward to going to Atlantis for the day, and as others have mentioned, it wouldn't be exactly a friendly move on Disney's part to dump their Nassau stops. The Bahamian government has made DCL's private islands possible, so I'm sure DCL feels the need to at least appear to show consideration for the wishes of the Bahamas, as well.
