New Wii Active Game

Hey! I love to do kick boxing aerobics. Is this fast paced? I like the boxing on Wii Fit, but I hate that its so slow to tell you what to do and then you just do a few punches and steps and have to wait again for more instructions. Is this better for exercise? Does it last longer? Thanks

You'd probably like the Cardio Workout Wii game as well. I just tried it out and the beginner (once you do the lessons) starts at 15 minutes. I am sure the advanced ones get longer. It says you can use the balance board but I haven't gotten to that point yet.

Ok...Holy moly...DW and I just got done with Day 1 of the 30 day workout and it was a GREAT workout. I'm in decent shape (I ran 4 miles on Sunday so I'm not in terrible shape) and I'm covered in sweat and about to head to the shower before work. The game is amazing and I think everyone can get a great workout on it. There is a ton of customization to this game (you can even customize what music you want to play while you workout). It also shows you the projected calories you will burn and what areas are being targeted in the workout you are going to be doing.

My ONLY complaint so far is that I had troubles with the leg band staying up. I had baggy shorts on at first and then went and put on my running tights on that I wear under my shorts when I run and it still slid down a couple of times. I'm sure it's something on my end and not with the leg strap because it has a texture that helps it to cling to stuff.

So far I highly recommend this game over any other workout game I've played so far (Wii Fit or the terrible shambles of Jillian).

As for what was wrong with Jillian's game...everything. The interface/graphics were CRAP. I had such high expectations because of Jillian's workouts on Biggest Loser and then on some workouts we've done of hers on Netflix, but her game was a total flop. We bought it at Best Buy and got it home and sold it on Amazon the next day because it was beyond ridiculous.

Anyway, I have to shower and head to work, but will mess around more with the game tonight and let you guys know more about it. For all of you getting it soon...enjoy! It's great.

DisneyDayTripper, I had the same problem with the leg band. My only complaint so far.

My question is were you sore the next day? Or as DH would put it. "I can tell I did something" :lmao:

Talked to my neighbor. She had the game for about 45 days in Feb/March. She said that a bare leg is best to minimize slipping. She said it did get better but if you were sweating and working hard it happened.

She was very frequently sore from the workout. She does curves so she is used to working out.

Being sore is one of the reasons I hate working out. That and sweat!

I fully expect this game to kill me.

I can definitely tell now that I worked out earlier...I plan on playing around with it more and I'll let you know how sore I am in the morning. I'd imagine anyone could get a great workout with the game as long as you pushed yourself. There are different stages and different lengths of workouts.

Even with Wii Fit I was sore the next day so I imagine this game doing a great job. I am going to use this on my off days of running or on days when it's raining like crazy (like today).

It's been raining constantly for the past 2 days and we've got over 5 inches in the past 2 days, but we've needed it...sorry to anyone coming to Disney anytime soon lol

Thank you for the review - I am really interested in getting this. I do have Wii Fit but don't really use it, I guess I don't feel like I am getting a workout with it. I have read terrible reviews on the the Jillian workout.

Well I can tell that I will be sore later on! So far we love it though. I love that it has so many different options and you can control the intensity!

So I just did Day 1 of the 30 day challenge and did it at the "Medium Intensity" and let's just say that I'm going to be sore tomorrow for my run. I was supposed to run today, but the rain kept me inside and this game definitely helped. If it's raining tomorrow again (like it's supposed to) I'll be inside doing this game for like an hour or something. The "inline skating" is kicking my butt because I can't get it back in the squat position before the next jump comes up. I definitely am liking this game though!

I picked it up this afternoon and did my first day of the 30 day challenge. I was defintely sweating by the end (I did a moderate level). The inline skating kicked my butt too! I always have a hard time motivating to workout or choosing what to do so I am hoping the programmed 30 day day schedule will work well for me! I enjoyed it and I liked it better than the wii fit--I didn't even choose to use the balance board. I also had an issue with the leg band slipping...

I think it needs a heavier elastic band too...i find it wayy too easy. You could probably pick up a better one for a few bucks at walmart.

By elastic I mean resistance band

Aight so I woke up this morning and I can definitely tell that I did the stuff yesterday...my legs all feel a bit sore and even a little bit in my back and neck from the bent over rows and the other stuff using the resistance band.

Before shutting it off I did mess around with the custom workout because I wanted to see what baseball and basketball were like and they seemed pretty fun for a workout.

One thing I wish though is that there was a rewards system like in Wii fit...how after doing so good you unlocked a game or something (i haven't played it enough to figure out if there is). I know you get "trophies" and what not, but i want to have some incentive to unlock a game or outfits or something ya know? (but this is only nitpicking on an amazing game)

Yea I'm definitely sore this morning too. I feel it mainly in my thighs, arms and back.

I started the 30 Day Challenge today. This is so much better than the Wii Fit. One of the exercises locks up though, so I have to skip that one. Not sure why it does that. I think I will be using a different resistance band as well.

I like it. I have a hard time keeping the leg band up. Even when I put it on tight enough to squeeze the blood out of my leg, it still won't stay up. The one thing I wish is that it had a practice area for tennis and some of the other sports because I really suck at them and would like to practice without having to do a whole 20 minute workout.

I am awful at the tennis too. I can't get the backhand to work.
