Greg (yellow Wiggle) just posted on the Wiggles message board. I thought I would post this here so you can prepare your children if you are planning on going to a concert soon or seeing them at MGM next week.

Dear All, Sorry to say....

it is with regret that I must let you know that I have to leave the tour due to illness. In the past two days, I have experienced symptoms in my health which have caused me concern. I was hospitalised yesterday, and doctors could not find anything medically wrong with me, and again today I am still experiencing the same symptoms.

I have had numerous bouts of this over the past 8 months, but they are getting more frequent, and more concerning, so I have decided that I must go home, rest and seek further medical advice (if appropriate) to assure myself that I will be okay for future tours.

It would appear from some medical opinions that I did not give myself enough time to recover from my recent hernia surgeries before coming back to touring. Whilst I have been feeling fine on tour, when I get home, I usually fall flat, and suffer from severe exhaustion. Yesterday, it hit me very quckly, and very hard, and prevented me from performing, and that was the case today as well.

Please forgive me for my illness at the moment, and understand that I wish to take all steps possible to ensure that I am back on deck as soon as possible so that I can continue touring without frequent interruptions.

In the meantime, Sam Moran will be filling in for me. He does a fantastic job, and everyone that has seen Sam perform in my place has had nothing but commendation for him.

To everyone that has come to see the Wiggles in the past 12 months, I know that there have been many instances where I have not been there, but thank you for understanding and thank you for your support and your attendance at our concerts.

I look forward to wiggling with you all again very soon,

Greg Wiggle

Here is some info on Sam Moran: http://www.thewiggles.com.au/about/biography/sam.html

If you have any of the recent videos, I am sure you are familiar with him. He is very talented.

This is so sad! I hope he gets the rest and care he needs to make a full recovery and keep "wiggling!" My DS4 overheard me telling my DH about this and he's all worried! I told him that he just needs to rest so that he can sing and dance with his Wiggly friends. I hope he gets better soon!!!

I hope Greg gets better. I was just at the Wiggle show tonight in D.C. During the begining of the concert they played a video from Greg saying he was sorry that he couldn't be there. The Wiggly dancers said he fainted yesterday and then again this morning and decided to head back home to Austriala and get some rest and figure out what is going on.

Greg was definately missed at the concert. But Sam did a great job filling in. It was still a great show and we had tons of fun. My son is 2 1/2 and is a huge Wiggles fan. We watch them everyday. We were in the 9th row and he never once said that it wasn't Greg. So if you are planning on seeing the show this tour, you will have just as much fun, so don't worry.

Once I get my pictures uploaded I will post another link for everyone to see.

Thank you, OP! I read the other thread, which just said something along the lines of 'Did you hear about Greg?' and gave a link, and I couldn't get logged in. It was driving us NUTS!

I was worried that it was something horrible, but hopefully it's just exhaustion and some rest will take care of it. We have never seens the Wiggles in person, but both my boys (DS6 and DS2) love them, and we have lots of their videos. They're awesome!!!

I hope he's ok. We were at the show in Philly on Saturday and he didn't seem to have the same energy as in past years. We was actually off stage quite a bit. As much as it's disapointing he needs to take care of his health and think of what's in the best interest of his family.

Does anyone know why Greg wears short sleeves on tour when the other guys are in the usual long sleeves?

Sorry about that! I was completely forgetting that you have to be registered on the Wiggles message board. DOH! :sad2:

DH and I were wondering about this too when we saw the Wiggles with DD a couple of weeks ago.

We saw the show in DC tonight, too. Ds, 2, is very, very concerned as to why Greg was too sick to come to the show. Sam did a great job, but it wasn't the same without Greg! I hope he gets better soon. OP..keep us updated if you hear any further news.

Not exactly sure why he wears short sleeves, but I did notice he seems to perspire quite heavily on stage. Maybe thats why

At all 6 of the concerts we've seen, as well as all of the concert videos, Greg is always in short sleeves. I would also assume it is due to perspiring heavily. Those lights are HOT, and they are always moving. Also, perhaps since he sings almost every single song, it is a little harder on him.

You bet! I will keep you updated if I hear anything else.

Your DS sounds so sweet. If he'd like to make Greg a get-well card, he can send it to:

The Wiggles Office

I see you're also in IL. Were you at one of the Rosemont shows? We were there Sunday at 5pm. How about you?

I'm really sorry to hear this. I hope Greg will be okay. My DS is going to be really disappointed though. He loves Greg and was really looking forward to seeing the Wiggles next week at MGM. I took him to see them at Madison Square Garden the previous two years and it was such a great show each time.

Thank you for posting this... My DD is only 1, but she loves to dance and loves that show. I'm going to get her to help me color a get well card for him and mail it off! I hope he gets the rest he needs and takes care of himself right now!!

When we saw the Wiggles Live in Concert (maybe last October????), Greg was also out sick then... they had a short video clip of him saying sorry that he couldn't be there... apparently he had a hernia!

Sounds like he's not doing too well! :sad1:

You're welcome! :goodvibes:

Thanks for posting a mailing address. My DS4 was crying last night when I told him Greg was sick and needed to leave the tour and rest. It was so heartbreaking. Greg is his favorite Wiggle.

I'm going to make a card with my kids and send it off today or tomorrow.

Thanks again!

This is sad...I am going to be buying tickets to the wiggles at the end of October. It won't be the same without Greg.

We were at the Saturday 5pm show. It was great! DD started dancing as soon as the music started up. About halfway through the show, she started to crash, but still did all the hand movements for the songs while laying on DH's lap. It was such a great experience!

We planned our trip for next week to Disney because we couldnt see the wiggles here in New York. I was wondering if any of you know how the shows worked. Meaning, are they the ACTUAL Wiggles? and are there really people lining up hours before a show to get a ticket?? The shows I assume are short since there are a few in the day. I love this Magical Beginnnings they are doing to get the litte ones here, and my daughter is sooo looking forward to this trip before here fist day of Kindergarden. :cheer2: Anyone that knows any info please let me know. Thanks! :wave2:
