New wheelchair!!!!!

Just need to have a whinge.

DS2 has been on emergency list for a new wheelchair for 16 weeks, finally got an appointment and he has had the first moulding done. The next fitting appointment was first for 2nd Sept. WE fly on the 3rd! I don't think so.

Next appointment 27 August the day before we were going to Scotland (12 hour drive away) for a wedding. So I'm now feeling hacked off Hubby has to go to wedding as he is BEST MAN, DS1 is still able to go but DS2 and I can't go as we really need to get the wheelchair sorted as DS2 is soooo uncomfortable at the moment.

Hopefully Disney magic will start to work a little early and the wheelchair will be ready early and will be right first time and DS2 will be really comfey and happy.

Fingers crossed and a little prayer to the Disney Fairy please.

Just a quick note.
New wheelchair arrived yesterday!!!!!!
So far so good. Not able to be in it for more than 1 hour at a time, to build up till able to use it full time. We did go for a short walk yesterday and DS2 cried when I lifed him out of the chair.
Today we are doing 1-11/2 hours in chair to 1-2 hours out. Fingers crossed.

My DD finally got her new wheelchair (that we've been waiting for them to get right since last October). She won't have any trouble getting used to it if I can just get her to try it. She's rather rigid in her behavior and doesn't like new things.

Hi Sue

Know what you mean about getting DD to try new things. DS2 can be very set in his ways. But this time around he knew he needed to be comfy!.
He also gets the same with people, however on more than 1 occasion this 6th sense has proven right!. Some one my DH had been friends with since school was always at our house and we also had a small business so gave him a job, later found out he was taking small amounts of money and not booking work in through the system, but doing them in his own time using our equipmentand keeping all the money!!!

Now if DS2 is not sold on someone we respect that good and proper and also take time to get to know them. DS2 does come round and really likes the good guys out there.
