What does everyone think of the new welcome show at MK? We were there a couple weeks ago and I just keep thinking about how much I loved it! Of course, I loved the one before, but being in front of the castle was just magical!

It is okay. I am glad that there is a show. I do think the old show in front of the train station was much better, I liked the welcome and train rolling in with the characters. But I did like wandering around on Main Street an hour before the park officially opened.

I liked the old train show too. Something about the energy of the train pulling up. The new show is ok but it's not much of a show. Just like a quick little welcome.

Getting on to main street early is awesome and much better than that coral just past the tapstiles. So that part is an improvement I guess. Although now we have several rope drop lines in each spoke of the hub. So you've gotta rope drop the rope drop. Pros and cons...

I always felt like I couldn't get close enough to the one with the train. With it being at the castle, I felt there was a much better view. My 3 year old definitely enjoyed the castle one! I do miss the train itself, though. Classic!

Right. I just love Main St. Waiting outside for the welcome show killed me. Haha!

Good point about being closer. That's true. The current castle stage will allow really good, close viewing of all the characters. Plus with so many people jammed into the spokes of the hub for rope drop, there aren't that many people crowding the front of the stage.

I think they need to change it. The new show just seem ok too me.

Visiting for Easter Week, and will miss the show at the train station. Maybe I'll just play the song on my phone before we head in.

"Let The Magic Begin" can never "replace" the excitement of the train pulling up with the Characters in "Magic Kingdom Welcome".

LTMB has potential-they need to plus it a lot-for example-have the Characters ride down Main Street USA to the Castle on the Omnibus.:)

I LOVED the old show with all my heart. It was one of my favorite moments at Disney. The new one is pretty bland by comparison. If they jazz it up a little it might be okay, but I doubt it'll ever be as good as the train station show.

I'm sure this has been discussed plenty, but I don't know the answer: Why did they change the show? After the refurb of the train was complete, why didn't they go back to the old show?

My objection to the change is that wifey and I really enjoy hopping on the horse trolly at RD and riding up to the castle. Sounds like that can't happen with the new deal.

We don't really know for sure, but the leading theory is that with the new security procedures, they didn't want a backup in the Mickey Floral area, so they decided that instead of crowding everybody in they would release them to Main Street. I'm sure that getting people in that Starbucks sooner was also a concern, but I'd have hoped the show at the castle could have been much more elaborate considering.

I was not impressed at all. Saw it a few times last week. It does not hold a candle to the train, song and dance.

you can still do that. The vehicles are out at the same time as usual
