New WDW Restaurants

Except the more that WDW fills up with Rainforests Cafes, Planet Hollywoods, Wolfgang Pucks, Cheesecake Factories, and so forth - then how is a trip going to feel any different than a trip to the shopping mall. Not a lot of people will be willing to drop five grand a week just to experience the exact same things they can get a home.

Even Vegas is seeing this problem. Even the high-end versions of chain restarutants are struggling. The successful ones are the unique, "you can only see 'em here" establishments.

Disney needs special restautants, not familar ones.
I agree 100%. I will not fly from Connecticut to Florida four times a year so I can dine at the Outback Steakhouse.
(although I love the Outback Steakhouse)

If they keep it close to unique I think it could be a good thing. I only go into the Rainforest Cafe with people who haven't been. The food is okay but not great and the delivery is excruitiatingly slow. However I LOVED the Rainforest Cafe when I first went into it at the Mall of America. Expanding the franchise had a negative impact.

I'm hoping Rainforest Million Years B.C. (sorry T Rex) wont just be a paste over of an existing albiet viable marketing plan. Reading their press releases made it seem like they would be replacing the current animals with extinct ones.

I can't quite figure out where "just outside of/next to Pleasure Island" would be. I sure hope it won't be on waterfront property if its fully enclosed the way Rainforest is. I wonder if it will be across from Raglan Road?

I agree that I can't see this going along the waterfront. My best guess--and I have zero inside info here--is that it may replace Motion (which originally was the Fireworks Factory restaurant, so there may still be a kitchen space in there). Large building, "next" to PI if it ceases to be a part of PI, not that far from Lego and World of Disney stores if they use a back entrance. I just don't see any large, open tracts of land in that area for a completely new building.
