I just thought I'd let you know (after getting about 400 e-mails about this yesterday) that Classic Theme Parks, (previously known as "The Extinct Attractions Club") has several new WDW CDs and downloads. One of them has 5 hours of audio/music from every version of Space Mountain and another is from Star Tours. I thought one of the more interesting ones was a multi-CD collection with tons of music from all of the resorts. :yay:

Unfortunately, they've also recently removed tons of their older CDs, most of which were from Epcot in the 80's and 90's. :headache: But after contacting them in disgust, I've been informed that they will be coming back sometime in the near future. :cutie:

Although I'm not sure how long it'll be valid, they have a discount code which gets you 50% off of your purchase, although I think it only includes their older DVDs and CDs. Enter "2010" upon checkout.

Enjoy! :cheer2:

And NOW I just got an e-mail that says there's a CD with 6 hours of WedWay People Mover/TTA audio!

That's a bit much, if you ask me.....but I'd still probably get it. :rolleyes1

Hey man, thanks for the link. It made me really miss "If you had wings." It was my first favorite ride and I kind of forget that.

They've got If You had Wings on there. :thumbsup2 Now if they'd only get the music for The Dreamflight....

Thanks for the link!! Been trying to get these loops for ages. Do you know if the ones they took off the site were any of the Christmas loops?

Thanks again!
Bob

I don't recall seeing any of those, other than some of the Christmas festivities/parades that were on DVD. I know the ones they recently took off were.....

-Horizons
-Journey into Imagination
-World of Motion
-Spaceship Earth
-A different version of the Epcot "background" loops than what's on there now

They said they were planning on bringing them back, though. :confused3 They seem to change/update their inventory periodically.

man I didn't need to see this LOL I'll spend a fortune!

Can anyone tell me if the quality of these CD's are good?

Theme park music makes awesome ringtones :-)

::yes::::yes::::yes::::yes::::yes::
And my friends think I'm the biggest dork for doing it.

WARNING! LONG RESPONSE AHEAD! ;)

I've only bought the MP3 downloads and not the CDs mainly because you don't have to wait a week for the package to arrive and because some soundtracks you buy in MP3 form have additional tracks that aren't included on the CDs. Here's my experience.....

I think they receive music from several sources. For example, on the Spaceship Earth soundtrack that I bought most of the tracks are very good, crisp and clean, but the narration still sounds as though it's being played through the head rest of the "time-traveling vehicles" on both the full ride-through track and on the "narration-only" track. Then there's a track with the Walter Cronkite version of the ride, which sounded as though someone recorded the ride-through with a hand-held tape recorder on the ride, mainly because I don't think they had the actual reel-to-reel recordings. In this case it was hit-or-miss. Since they had a few ride-throughs without narration that were very high quality, it didn't bother me. And yes, the song "Tomorrow's Child" was on it in all its crisp clean wonder. :rolleyes1

Then there's the Horizons soundtrack, which I was extremely pleased with. They had individual tracks of the music from each individual scene, which were very good quality. And there was even a "ride-through" where someone had carefully taken all of the music tracks, pieced them together and added the narration over it. It's 23 minutes of pure bliss! (I seriously almost cried when I first heard it.)

In short, I think overall their quality is very good. I think if you want something like Haunted Mansion or PotC your chances of getting a really high quality recording is very good because there are tons of high-quality digital recordings out there, but if it's a bit more obscure there's a chance a few of the tracks are going to be a bit less than stellar. It also depends on where they get recordings from.....which is a topic I won't discuss on here because I'm not sure where they get them from and I don't want them to be shut down. :rolleyes1

Sorry for the long answer. I like to be thorough.

Thank you SO much for the feedback. I think I'll do the dounloads - but now I'm a dork and am not saavy with this - will I be able to download them into Itunes? Or just my music library on my PC?

Which then reminds me that I have to buy an external back up device before I buy a new PC!

No problem. :)

Hmmmm. If I remember correctly I wanna say the songs automatically get put into a folder wherever you tell it to save at. I just saved it to my desktop (I have a Mac), and then took them right into iTunes. It was pretty easy peasy. :thumbsup2

easy peasy to you means oh boy I'm screwed to me LOL!

Thanks again! ;)
