Fort Wilderness/TTC Route
Restructure Test Coming Soon

In order to continue to reach toward and achieve our goal of 'Magic in
Motion' by enhancing that 'dynamic experience that unites WDW', we
will test a new idea in guest service at Fort Wilderness. Our goal is
to improve guest service and the 'ingeniously simple and hassle-free'
transportation experience of our Fort Wilderness and our Magic Kingdom
Resort guests using the same buses we use now.

What are we trying to accomplish?
* Improve bus service to Fort Wilderness Guests by providing direct
service to all Parks and Downtown Disney.
* Shorten internal travel times for our Fort Wilderness guests.
* Alleviate complaints about trip times and crowded buses to and from
Fort Wilderness.
* Increase Company knowledge by exposing more Cast Members to the Fort
Wilderness experience.
* Lessen the amount of internal bus traffic through the Campgrounds.
* Offer direct service from the Magic Kingdom Resorts to Downtown
Disney all day.

Though the current system has some positive elements -such as
10-minute intervals between buses, no internal transfers, and all
buses go to all stops our guests are telling us there is a need to
improve. The new system has its rewards for our guests. By providing
direct service to all the Parks and Downtown Disney, guests can avoid
the long ride through the Fort to TTC only to have to transfer to
another bus. The confusion at the Settlement as to which bus to board,
Boone or Crockett, will be eliminated. With less internal bus traffic
and shorter internal travel times, we will have increased capacity and
have less crowded buses. Buses will not fill up before completing all
the stops. On top of all the efficiencies and improvements in our Fort
Wilderness transportation, we will provide direct service from the ~
Magic Kingdom Resorts to Downtown Disney all day, The East and West
routes will go up first thing in the morning and run all day. There
will be no more transfers at TTC for our Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge
and Grand Floridian guests. Don't miss the next issue of the Bus Crewz
News Weekly for more details on exactly how the routes will be run
during the test.

hmmmmmm sounds interesting, I have always wanted to stay in Fort Wilderness but my limited experience with their bus system was very frustrating. This could make things easier

Thank Goodness! That is the one and only thing I don't like about Fort Wilderness. I was once on that bus with two very tired preschoolers trying to get back to my campsite for an hour. It was so ridiculous, it was funny.

Ok. Now this is a start (like chipping the iceberg).

There are so many problems with FW and FWC that I guess they need to start somewhere. It's refreshing that they will discontinue TTC. They should have its own area for just TTC. They are not MK resort patrons. Sorry, I do not mean to sound snooty, but if you pay up to $200 and above for a room, you should have some exclusivity.

Thank you very much.

Any improvement to FW busing is welcome. That is the main drawback to staying there.

Glad to see this...I hope CBR is next! After our stay there, I became firmly convinced that "Trinidad" is a Caribbean slang word for "no bus come here." Over 45 minute wait just to get to AK...ouch!

This is great news! The people staying in the cabins always felt a little second-class, and they pay $200 plus a night.

Remember, too, that while the campsites may only cost $50-$75 a night, they have less overhead than a hotel room so probably are as profitable to Disney.

92 days to go!

Changes in the FW transportation system are long overdue. As for the "snooty" comment, everybody in the cabins is paying well over $200 per night and deserves the same level of transportation as the other resorts. I know that from the outside, campers may seem like a group of very frugal individuals. The reality is that most of the campers in FW are driving rigs that are valued at $200,000 and up!!!! We aren't all sitting around our little grills (I personally have never lit one up) roasting weinies and eating beans out of a can, and our stays are on the average MUCH longer than those of families staying in the hotels. Our family stays between 2 and 6 (yes, 6) weeks during each stay at FW. During this 2-6 week period we are eating in the Disney restaurants at least once per day ...... and for a family of 8 that is a huge chunk of change! All of us have AP's, we have surfed Typhoon Lagoon ($125 pp), we have done the Richard Petty thing ($600), all of the tours, shows, etc. There is no limit to our enthusiasm for the activities offered at WDW ...... we just happen to stay at FW and think that the level of service offered to us should be equal to the other resorts. Now if we could just get a hot tub at FW ......... (the ONLY WDW resort that does not have one)!

This sounds good but what do they mean by
Lessen the amount of internal bus traffic through the Campgrounds
? How will this affect travel within the campground, say from the cabins to River Country?

To buddy&wooz, Disney is also going to bring back the Chip & Dale Bus Routes, I don't yet have the Updated Info yet maybe in a day or two.

Thanks. Looking forward to hearing more info.
