(very sore) Walker here! Did my first official 5k this past sunday. Clocked in at 42:45. Not too bad if I do say so myself for my first timed race. I've been hobbling around today because of soreness but I've already told the DW that I'm ready to sign up for my next race as soon as I get the chance.

Hi everyone!!!!! Sorry I have been away for what seems like forever. I haven't had a chance to read back posts. Just got back from my cruise yesterday, had a fab. time. Prior to that life just got so busy.

Mike and I are back at it today, since we have done no training at all....and gainned some pounds on our cruise.

Hope my post finds everyone well and look forward to catching up!!!!!

Hi Everybody!

Just a drive by to let you know I haven't fallen off the face of the earth! I have a huge project due Thursday, and between that and Easter it's been crazy. My miles/hours this week are not going to do my Team justice, but I'm sure they'll forgive me. After Easter I'll be cranking it out again!

So good to hear from Kim and Mike!

Everyone else -- have a great walking week! Recover if you need to, Rev it up if you need to, and always remember walkers rock!

Maria

Hello fellow walkers! :wave2:

Congrats Tracy and DB!!

Hope everyone is doing well this week and that someone has spring weather. Certainly is having a hard time holding on here - were supposed to get rain yesterday, came down as sleet and snow. Yuck.

Got in my first 5 mile walk Sunday (on TM due to weather). Slow but otherwise physically feel good. No soreness in legs so feel I'm ok with the distance, just need to increase pace.

Have made a firm decision to get into serious Minnie prep mode! Making some changes to diet, holding to my work out schedule and mentally setting myself up for success!

Now if someone would kindly remind my body of these goals in about 2 weeks, it would be greatly appreciated. :upsidedow

Have a great day!

I agree, I keep reminding myself that the Minnie has a 15 minute mile cut off instead of 16, and I have to really push it in training to average below a 15 mm pace! I am looking forward to Easter being in the past, so I can quit eating Easter candy. I will really have to get back on track next week.

Congrats DirtyBunny!!! That's great, keep up the good work!!

Yeah!

I'll remind you, you remind me and we'll both be in good shape! :goodvibes

Fortunately there is no Easter candy or Thin Mints in my house.

Hello Walkers...
Been alittle sore after the 5K on Saturday. My Left hamstring near the insertion at the knee on the inside has been acting up. Can't wait for my massage on Friday. (ice, ice)

Keep up the good work everyone, keep going strong!!!!

That sounds like a sore ITband princess. I bet your massage therapist will find it and then have her way with it. I nearly came off the table once when the Ciropractor first found out I had tight ITBs

So proud of you and Bunny for good races. I have my first walk race coming up on the 12th of April. It's a 5K with 2 tough hills. I like hills, I train on them everyday I can walk outside. I can't do tready hills, just not the same.

Have a great evening walkers.

Hi Walking Buddies!

Of course, I'd have to actually be walking to claim you...I haven't done a darned thing since Thursday. I don't know what's up, I just have this mental block and I haven't moved. Sigh. :confused3

I'm not unhealthy (well, I am, but I should say I'm not injured). I just feel like I'm not making any progress. My scale has been going steadily in the wrong direction, and I'm not seeing results.

This is probably not the right thread for this. I apologize, I'm on so many I lose track. That's another thing I haven't really done -- I haven't been posting like I usually do. I just come home, fall into bed, do the minimum to get my family out the door the next day (ok, not exactly in that order), and mindlessly watch reality tv. Something is very wrong with this picture, I'm just not sure what to do to get myself moving again.

Anyway, I meant to come on here and catch up on everyone else -- I promise to do that soon. I have this massive project due Thursday, and so my DIS time is nonexistent during the day. And since my computer isn't in my bed...you get the picture.

Everybody have a great walking day tomorrow, and I will be back in the saddle before I know it!

Maria :upsidedow

Maria, I totally understand where you are coming from, I have felt that way since marathon weekend. Can't get my act together, could be the weather hard to say but lets just back on that healthy lifestyle bandwagan and kick our blues to the curb.....what do you say??:grouphug:

Got the house stocked up with healthy foods last night so feeling good about that. Will get in some walking at lunch today and then again a longer walk tonight. Nothing major and no quick pace just getting my body moving again.

Have a awesome day all.

Kim

Maria and Kim, pretty princesses. Slap Slap Slap. Stop being down on yourselves you are wonderfull, beautifull ladies and full of excitement for life.

We all hit a rut ever now and then and that's when we need our friends to give us a hand up. I know for sure that both of you have had your hand out to help others plenty of times.

Kim, I can get both you and Mike on the same team now if you are ready to come back.

Maria, remember today is the first day of the rest of your life, the past is over and we can't change that but the future is there for you to use. Your comeback starts today exen if it's only a promise to yourself that you won't let that pretty princess in the mirror down.

Walking Panda:hippie:

Dave you are wonderful, always there to pick us up when we are down.

That would be great, I hope we haven't hurt our teams standings too much, but if you want us back we would love to come back.

Kim

You are back, just come on back to the Hakuna Matata and start posting again. Tell Mike we missed him to.

Kim you have been there for the rest of us plenty of times.

On the exercise side of things, went to the gym and used the tready since we are having some intense rain. 4 miles at a relaxed 15 min per mile and then my stretching.

Happy Panda:hippie:

Kim and Maria, Like Dave says, we all fall into an occasional rut so please don't be so hard on yourselves. :goodvibes The fact that you posted is a positive sign!

It looks to be a beautiful day here, so I get to walk outside!  Yay!

Maria and Kim - not much I can add to what others have said other than you can do it and you know we're all here to help.

Hi Bill, long time no chat. How are you doing????

Thank you all for the kind words, just some days it is hard to remember all that we have already accomplished and just get back at it.

But wiht all the awesome support here, I know I will get back at it.

Kim

Hi Everyone!

I had this long, fantastic post typed...and then I had to delete in when a colleague had to look at my computer...

Just know I appreciate each and every one of you, and your support is invaluable!

Special shoutouts to Dave, Kim, Liz, Bill, Sam and all the other Great Walkers -- That means everyone!

Maria
