New Voucher Policy at SWA

We rec'd a $50 credit voucher from SWA on our last trip since they "lost" our lugguage for while. We were told they would bring them to our house or we could pick them up for a $50 travel voucher. Well we fly atleast once or twice a year and with 7 of us we can use all the help we can get. The bad part of the travel vouchers are that you cannot book online and get an internet rate--which is always the best by what I have seen. So you pay more to use your voucher thus reducing your voucher benefit.
I called the other night and a rep told me as of 8/16 if you have a paper travel voucher you can send it in to cs with your travel & payment info and they will send you the amount of the voucher back if you paid cash or credit it back to your card if you charged.
We havent mailed in our voucher yet so I dont know how fast and easy its going to work.
Has anyone else heard of this new policy and/or actually dont this?

I asked about this policy last June because we have some paper vouchers from volunteering to give up our seats on an overbooked flight. At that time, they told me I had to book in person at the airport to use the vouchers. We plan to use our vouchers in March 2005, so I'm definitely interested to hear if anyone has actually done this as I too would be glad to use the vouchers on the usually lower internet rates.

Guess I need to call myself to see what they say since we may be booking our flights soon for early March and it looks like they may be releasing more dates within the next week or so.

oooh! This sounds like good news. I wonder if they will have electronic gift certificates, too. (Wouldn't that be great--just in time for Christmas! )
