Had you already booked or was it a new booking? Just wondering as I am going to try and get VH to adjust our price! If not I will cancelling & rebooking!

What dates in August did you use - I have tried for my dates and it is more expensive than it was a few weeks ago - the VAA adjustment is a plus amount in my case.

Looks like loads of people have had good deals - reading on the dibb site, wish i could book for next year but we promised ourselves to totally gut the bathroom instead...

I booked on tuesday, for October half term 2009, through a travel agent.

When I saw the post this morning I checked my travel dates on the virgin website, saw the massive price reduction, then rang my travel agent. She wasn't sure if Virgin would apply the discount, but we were willing to cancel and rebook at the new price, and I think she told Virgin that. About 30 minutes after I first rang her, she called me with the good news!:cool1:

Thanks - as we only booked last week i am prepared to cancel and rebook if necessary.

I've read somewhere if you booked 14 days ago or within you are entitled to the new price as they can't drop the price by a certain %? I know loads have had there bookings amended but have been frustrated with the numerous calls to Virgin but in the end got there final total reducted to the new price:thumbsup2
I'm tempted VERY tempted.:lmao:

I don't know what to do. I checked my original dates yesterday and was quite pleased as they were more money than when I originally checked a while ago.

We have already booked a flight only with TCX (premium cabin) for £1875 (plus another £77 when I book seats together) but I have just played around with dates on VH and can get economy for £1250 going 4 days later and staying for 15 nights instead of 14.

Even taking into account the £300 deposit paid to TCX we would be £400 better off. Plus, the 11 nights DVC accomodation would use less points than the 10 nights we would have booked. And it's MCO rather than Sanford so can use DME and reduce days we need a car. And it's from Manchester when TCX was from Gatwick.

The only downside is that VH is economy and on planes that are getting rather tired and TCX is premium on newly refurbished planes and we need to find another £360 deposit. Plus DD will miss the first week back at school but not too bothered as she will only be moving into full time foundation/reception rather than "proper" school.

Just phoned DH at work to give him the news - looks like we will be discussing this tonight.

Just picked up 2 adults/2 kids for £1700 next October, these were £2300 last weeek as i have been watching them closely

well if you are going to save a few bob then it will be worth doing and then ask virgin how much their pe is, sometimes they have low prices on these, someone has posted (on Dibb) that they got pe for £52 one way

I am wanting to book a flydrive for next year however going to Flordia on Monday so can't pay the deposit yet. Hopefully the prices will still be there in 3 weeks.

:dance3: We just saved some money as VH added the discount to our exsisting booking!! :thumbsup2 for Paul in the UK customer service team - he was brill!

I just phoned FVC to see if I could get a booking on hold and got through to the normal call centre:mad: Who were no help, told me to email my request. I thought the FVC went straight through to a UK call centre!! PE fly drive is £1600 and I don't want to miss it. it going to take 7 days to deal with my email and I will be in flordia then!

no luck, I have sent FVC a complain email asking why there exclusive phone number goes through to the normal call centre, I have got through to the UK in the past however had no luck this week.

How did you get them to amend an existing booking? They just keep telling me the discounts are for new bookings and they won't apply it to my holiday booked on tuesday!! Also they say cancelling will cost me my £600 deposit!!:confused3 :confused3

I seem to be missing something.:confused3 are these discounts through VH or VA? Accom only bookings and flydrive bookings as when I looked for OKW 20/8/09-03/09/09 with flights was £5488 for 2 adults and 2 kids!!!Disney direct was £1930 for accom dining and tickets:confused3
