Just curious: Do y'all buy a new Unofficial Guide every time you're planning a trip? :thanks:

Yep :)

It's been 3 years since I bought the last one though. If I went every year I probably wouldn't bother, but it's worth it for 3 years worth of updates! :goodvibes

Yep, new one of them or two or three given how many there are out there. I'll sit down for an hour or more with a stack of books at Borders, sip on a vanilla chai and enjoy deciding what to get. I always get a new Official Guide too and sometimes it's HARD to resist buying two becuase the updated one always comes out between when you start planning and when you actually go. Buying them is just like one step closer to WDW reality I think. I can't get enough of the books! I'm a publisher's dream! :upsidedow

I usually do but there is usually a couple years between trips. I bought the 2005 for planning my 2006 trip but now I don't know if I should get the 2006 because of changes or just rely on the 2005 one. There is so much current info on the DIS that I think I should be OK but I keep looking at it on the shelf... :rotfl2:

Yes...at least one! For our trip this December, I have purchased the Unofficial Guides for 2006 and 2007, the 2006 Passporter, and the 2006 Official Guide. And I've read them all cover to cover...and I just started planning less than two months ago!

:wave2: You can get updates on their web site, touringplansdotcom. I would wait several years before getting a new book. There just isn't that much difference from one year to another.

I get one each year and browse through it for changes. On the years when we go I read it cover to cover once and then read the sections that pertain to our families trip over and over again. Seems like I always learn something.

this time I checked the guide out at the library. It is BIG now - but still jsut as helpful.

I'm one of those who buy every year because I can't resist.
Most years they are very similar. However, the new 2007 unofficial guide has some revised sections that make it worth purchasing!

I haven't gotten a new Unoffical Guide in a while. I think I may pick up the 2007 version.

I usually do, but this time I think I will go on the web-site since I do have the 2006 one. But, as my trip draws nearer, I might cave in :rotfl:

I'm such a geek...I bought the new one as soon as it came out...as if it was soooo different from the 2006 version!!!! I'm an addict!!!!!

We have been to WDW 30+ times, but sometimes I gotta have the new edition of the UG. That's a great piece of work.:earsboy:

I've bought it each year for the past 3 years. I just bought the 2007 yesterday. Barnes & Noble sent me a coupon for an additional 15% off so I
decided to use it on the UG. :thumbsup2

I get a new UG every year as soon as it comes out. :teeth:

They have now added Pillow Fluffiness to the book - which resort has the fluffiest pillows? Dunno why, but that cracked me up.

I still wish they'd put in more descriptive stuff about the hotels - detail on the colors and styles and stuff in the rooms, the grounds, the lobbies.

Thanks everyone! Books are my vice, and I was trying to talk myself out of the UG this year. But what can I say, y'all talked me into it! :thumbsup2

I bought the 2007 UG as soon as I saw it. I read it cover to cover (even though lots of it was very familiar). The last one I bought was 2004. I also justified the purchase because I will be passing it on to my DD as she plans a trip in Aug 2007.
