Real or April Fool's joke, you decide.Seriously, does someone actually think people are going to believe they can build an underground theme park in Florida.I know it's gotta be fake but if you're in Chuluota,Fl April 5th (opening day) give us a trip report.

It could be built in a building, just themed as being underground, like Mermaid Lagoon at Tokyo DisneySea or Seabase Alpha (though those are rather undersea...) :-)

The ad came all of a sudden. Why would someone pour millions into a theme park that nobody knows anything about. On top of it, they are offereing 2-4-1 entry into the park for opening day. How is anybody going to make any money. This has to be some sort of hoax, but I wonder what the reasoning for it is... like I heard before, maybe april fools??? We shall see her in a few days.

Okay,

Please allow me to clear some confusion about this "Underground Adventure Orlando". The whole idea is a pun, considering that anywhere you go in Florida; if you decide to dig - - you aren't going to get that far before you hit water. Also, you may wonder who went to all this effort to pull this "joke" out of the box; but in all honesty its really simple!

  • The website was made in photoshop using auto-slices (10 minutes, tops)
  • Any real theme park, would sink millions into advertising campaigns
  • Who ever put this website up is using Google Analytics, which shows they are tracking where you are visiting the website from, passed on IP address data.
  • Webspace only cost about 5$ a month these days
  • The phone number is registered to a magic-jack
  • Ad space on a local radio station was probably the biggest expense

Its an april fouls joke, and a damn funny one at that! Not to mention the prospective visitation data they are acquiring from the fake website could be sold for a good bit of cash to companies actually considering building!

Don't undertstand what they want to achieve, but for an April's Fools joke it is a bit too early, isn't it? :confused3

Is it possible the whole thing is a scam? I've seen tickets for opening day for sale on Craigs List and other sites - though some of the listings appear to have been removed.

That's quite a scam... advertise a fake theme park, sell fake tickets to the non-existent park, and steal everyone's money.

Hmmm... not really that original, is it?

(Then again you could also just go to Disney where they also steal your money, but at least you'd have a good time when you got there! $79 for a theme park ticket is highway robbery, IMHO!)

Gotta be a joke. The only thing they'd be able to have is a really dark swimming pool. There's a reason we don't have basements in Florida.

Yup... April Fools Joke. (I don't get it?) But hey... free beer!

(So, were the tickets for sale online part of the elaborate hoax or was someone trying to take advantage of it and make a quick buck?)

I'm sure it was supposed to be a funny joke, but to me, the fake promise of a whole bunch of new jobs at a time when jobs of any sort are incredibly hard to come by is in bad taste, at best.

Boo!
