I love the blonde jokes. That is the only part I like about Jacob being the narrator in BD.

My 2cents opinion:

all 4 books, easy reads

I like Jacob's character, but he was NEVER for Bella, so I really was baffled by the fact she got caught up in him as much as she did. Jacob seems like a brother, not a love interest. I know she had to convince herself Edward wasn't coming back. Anyway, each book got more and more bizarre, but her spurts of writing that pull b/t Edward and Bella kept me reading. Thier attraction for each other as intense-like most good, new relationships. The baby was inevitable I thought.

In book 4, at first reading, I completely SKIPPED the Jacob book. I just couldn't stand to read it. BUT after feeling I missed something and re-reading the weries, I read it all the way through and found it was not so much about Jacob as it was about the relationships forming b/t the main characters. The birth part I could'a skipped though- grotesque!! I guess if you got as little "bloodsucker" in there, it's gotta come out somehow-it was almost "Alien"-ish!

I think the main draw to this series is that chemical attraction b/t Bella and Edward- kids dream about it and mom's remember the feeling of new love. That first touch, the first hand holding, the first kiss.....Fortunately, for us humans, the newness wears off and something better(hopefully, in a good relationship) takes its place. For the vampires, according to the author, that newness never wears thin-it all stays the same.

As a mom in a good marriage-Heck yeah, sometimes that sounds great, but then I digress, b/c I wouldn't trade the wonderful realtionship I have with my high school sweetheart EVER. I think Stephenie Meyer must have been thinking along these lines as a SAHM of 3 boys in a (hopefully seemingly)good marriage- about that newness. I like her website that she mentions, in so many words, that this is all NOT real. As dreamy as the books and movies may be, it's not reality-but HEY, I love getting away from reality every so often!!!

HP comparison- there is none. HP will be a classic for years. The writing is so different and JK was maticulous from book to book. HP is about a totally different type of love. HP is a much more in depth character with more heart and soul.

As with other posters, I was just as mesmerized by HP as Twilight series, but for completely different reasons. Also, Twilight series is NOT something I want my kids reading(they are 9 and 11, both girls), HP is great for them. It has morals and character and chases deep emotion and thought. Twilight, although there are some morals involved, the writing of the feelings they feel around each other tells me they wouldn't have waited if they were both mortal/immortal!! But that is a good message IMHO.

My girl friend and sister are dragging me too this movie at midnight tomorrow don't see what's so important about it really I read all four books but I only really enjoyed twilight. I think I will fall asleep at the theater xD

I think, after recently wayching Romeo and Juliet- new and old versions-that Edward has a lot more substance than Romeo. I am not sure I completely see the resemblance other people do.

I am going to see it Friday night-already have my tickets, with 3 girlfriends- then i am making my hubby see it with me next weekend!

i think edward is better then romeo bc my school put on romeo and juliet the play last wek and i saw it nd i was like wow edward is so much better. i wish i could see the movie at midnight lol oh nd one of my favorite quotes is " speaking of italy and cars i stole there you still owe me a yellow porsche" oh and 'bring on the shackles i'm your prisoner" looking forward to that in the movie lol
