When I called this morning to make an adr at Boma, the cast member told me that Tusker House had just reopened with the exact same menu as Boma. Has anyone been there since it reopened? Is it really the same or would you still make the trip out to Boma?

Thanks!!!

No it not the exact same food as Boma's far from it. It had different types of food but nothing like Boma's. Boma's is much better . We didn't really like Tusker House but that is us.

We were there in December 2007 for breakfast and really enjoyed the food...especially the mango juice! :cutie:

The Tusker House lunch and dinner buffets have African, Asian and Middle Eastern influenced foods, so there is a bit of an overlap with Boma. We found it to be one of our favorite meals last trip.

However, it's not identical to Boma at all, and both places are worth a visit. Boma has to-die-for soups and a items that may be a bit more complex (unusual spices or combinations). Tusker House seems a bit lighter with more of an emphasis on simple roasted meats.

Thanks for the responses! Not for sure what all the popcorn was about but whatever.

We loved Tusker House before so I think we will give the new menu a chance.

Think of Tusker House as Boma Lite. We were there in Feb for breakfast and it was delish! It's is the only place that you can have breakfast with Daisy Duck :)

LOL. People put up the popcorn smilies to indicate that they are anxiously anticipating the answer. Kinda like watching an engrossing movie...hence the popcorn. :)

Lunch is most definitely not the exact same menu as Boma. There are a few similar dishes.

I have not been to dinner so won't comment.

Funny about the popcorn because on the other boards I frequent, the popcorn means that you to expect some drama to unfold. LOL!

We are doing breakfast there this trip and I'm excited to hear that Daisy Duck should be there. That's the one character we missed last trip that DD was upset about.

I just ate there last week and have quite a few pics. When I get home I can post them.

I would say the Tusker house has similiar theming to Boma but the menu is slightly different. While I think it is a nice in park option and it does offer lunch if I had to pick between that or Boma for Dinner I would pick Boma in a heartbeat.

I know this is an older thread but I'm looking t doing Tusker house for lunch while we're at AK. Any choices for picky eaters? And is it all air conditioned? We'd be going in August and would need a nice cool break from the heat. Will Tusker House provide that?

ancient thread, lol...the Tusker HOuse re-do was a long time ago.

Yes, it is air conditioned...very nice & cool in there. Beer available on the menu if you're looking for adult beverage break, too. Don't think picky eaters would have any trouble finding enough to eat...if nothing else, head over to the kids buffet area for plain chicken nuggets, mac & cheese, etc. As for the adult offerings...many of the usual Disney buffet selections...there are a few semi-exotic offerings, but very definitely exotic-lite. We enjoyed it last year.

Thanks! We got bumped from our dinner reservations over at Yak & Yeti due to an early closing time an Tusker House for lunch is all that is available. I booked it, it sounds like we might enjoy it! Thanks!
