:yay: Just got off the phone with bhphoto ordering myself new toys preparing for a trip to WDW the first of December. I have a brand new 10-22mm Canon, a CP filter, and a B+W 1.8 ND filter. Now to hope I get them in in time to play around and learn them.

Nice! Can't go wrong with B&H. In fact, I just placed an order with them a few hours ago. Have fun the UWA lens!

What is it about a trip to WDW that inspires new toys?;) We'll be there next month too and I'm getting ready to buy an UWA for the trip! I've been perusing the UWA thread here trying to get ideas. There are some great pics there!

thanks ya'll, hopefully I'll have some worth sharing when I get back.

Pugrpooh tell me about it, I blame all of these toys on the shots here, between the incredible UWA shots and the wonderful fireworks.

I think it is just the variety of things to photograph. If it was just a regular vacation, a simple point and shoot would work great. At WDW we have day parades, night parades, rides both in daylight and the dark, fireworks, animals in zoo-type settings, etc. While talent is always a great thing, there is an equipment component that makes it easier to get those shots. For this trip, I have a new body, two new lenses (Sigma 30 and a new WR 18-55) and my ND filter arrives today. I can't wait to try all this stuff out.

new toys are here:woohoo:, unfortunately I haven't had time to play with them yet maybe it'll be a slow day at work tomorrow and I'll get a chance.

Congrats :thumbsup2. I have heard good things about b&h, so I look toward to trying them out soon.

rmdavis - I hope you'll post pics taken with the new filter. I'd be interested in your thoughts as well. I think it might be between that B&W and the Hoya for me.

Same here!:) My UWA finally came yesterday - it took four days to travel from Tennessee to Kentucky. It's still in the box and I've been cooking for the past hour for our Thanksgiving lunch at work so I don't know if I'll be able to play with it today or not. I'll definitely use it Thursday to get those wide interior shots.

Here is a test image I took with my new B + W 1.8 ND filter. I just got it Friday. I went to the only sure place I knew where there was fast moving water, our downtown dam. While not the best composed image, it did impress me the way if flattened down the river and smoothed out the flow while keeping the colors bright (traffic lights, Christmas decorations, etc,). I can't wait to use it at WDW starting Sunday! I have some ideas that I have gleaned here to try to reproduce.

BTW, it was a very cloudy, gloomy day without any sunny, blue skies!
