Soon to be on a truck headed from NYC to my house are a Tokina 11-16 and a canon 50mm 1.8. I got offered some extra freelance work at twice my normal pay and its going to buy these guys!

Any tips of for the new lenses? I'll be busy practicing as I leave for Italy in 5 weeks!

With the Tokina, get lots of practice. I've got that lens myself and am fairly new to shooting with an UWA lens, it takes a lot of getting used to. It's a lot of fun though, you should get some good use out of it in Italy!

I tend to turn off Auto Focus on my lenes, it's easy some times to bump the switch. Learn how your camera reacts when it's in Manual Focus mode, and learn to recognize it.

With the 50mm, try taking the same picture with different f-stops.

Congrats on the extra freelance work at twice pay!!! I need to find me a couple of clients like that.

:cool1:

That 50mm f/1.8 is magic! One of the best bang-for-the-buck deals in the dslr world! Congrats!:cool1:
