New to VMK

I only started VMK over the weekend, but I see there is alot of controversy about "taken". I'm just wondering what it all means, can anyone explain this to me. I want to be on my guard if this is something inappropriate. Thanks

Hi welcome to VMK! In VMK you might come across people that come up to you and ask if you are taken. Taken is basically having a girlfriend or boyfriend. I notice this more with the girls in the game trying to ask the boys. If I'm asked I just say I don't do taken. Again welcome and hope to see you in the game. I'm Aurorasparkle in VMK by the way so if you see me just say "Hi".

Taken is as SleepingBeauty says...it is where a girl or boy ask if you are taken for a boyfriend or girlfriend! Vmk has just started enforcing the rules and it is something that you can get banned for now if caught! So the best way to handle it is like we do is say.. " I don't do taken"!

Hello Pooh, and welcome to the DIS and to VMK!

I am CL_DaraSue in game.

"Taken," "Bay Be," "Mummy," etc. are all ploys to form some sort of "relationship" on VMK. They are not a good idea, and can quickly get out of hand.

Best to stand clear of all of that, stay out of those rooms or places where it is happening. As has been said, if someone directly asks you, tell them, "I don't do taken" and leave the area. If you see it going on around you, leave the area.

You will form some of the best friends you can imagine on VMK all without labeling any of it. Play the mini-games, find people from here to help you with quests, that kind of stuff. You will find friends from other friends, etc. Don't feel pressured to do anything that makes you uncomfortable, whether it is "taken" or "give me free stuff and I'll be your friend". Always remember that you are in control of your avatar! Simply walk away.

Welcome to dis and VMK.
You'll have a great time and meet lots of cool ppl. The game is always getting better with new things.
Taken has gotten out of hand. But basically all you have to is say you dont do taken, and its cool.
Some of us do taken tho so its actually your choice. Its nice to have someone special to share the magic of vmk with.
