New to VMK and confused lol

Ok, I decided to try and play VMK because we recently upgraded from dial-up to cable internet. I must say i am so confused lol

I understand you play games for credits and you use credits to buy stuff. Well all that I can seem to buy is clothes. I go into a shop, push the "shop" button on my taskbar and its the same stuff..just clothes, nothing else.

I did play a quest and one a cute Mickey pin. And somehow I have a poster from the Jungle cruise game.

I just want to know how to buy stuff and any other encouragement/tips you guys can give. If I don't figure this out soon I think I may quit playing. It hasn't been very fun wandering about and not really doing anything.

its big LOL. You can find alot of DISers today if you watch the 9/16 earless thread

finding DIS friends will be the easiest way to really get started.

It does seem overwhelming at first. After 4 months there are things I still don't know much about, lol. But this board has been the best for help! I would start with the basics....learn where to get each of your daily free credits, start building up those credits to shop. When you become comfortable in the game, you will probably enjoy doing quests to try to win free "prizes." Decorating your room(s) can be fun.

As for shopping, when you go into each "shop" and click on the cash register, you should see a listing of items other than clothes too. You will see things like "specials" and "pins" and "posters" etc.

Welcome to the DIS!! I am also new to VMK - so mabye we can help each other learn ok? LOL
I have to say though -- i have already met some great vmk dis'ers already on here -- not yet in VMK itself.. But, there are great people here willing to help you! And yes, you definately have to read the players guide a few times to have it even START to sink in.
