Greetings everyone! My family and I are headed to WDW in 2 weeks. and after lurking the forums and slowly getting involved around here, Ive decided that Id love to make a pre trip report and follow up with a trip report!!

However, I have no clue as to how about about making one!! :confused3:
Ive got a few basic questions, and any insight or tips anyone might have would certainly be most welcome!

How much info is "enough" or is there such a thing? What all goes in a pre-trip report, which pictures to include, what kind of information to include, will I be looked at as the resident "new guy" lol.

Ive read so many incredible trip reports here, and it can be a bit daunting to figure out even where to start (sounds alot like planning the WDW trip!).. So please, any tips or info you have would be wonderful!

We are at Pop our first and last night then Boardwalk Villas in the middle...
I do believe our dates are the same as yours!

Thats awesome! Are you meeting up with anyone else of the boards that are going down the same period of time?

I'll also be there at that time, staying at Beach Club Villas. :)

As for a trip report or pre-trip report, there's no such thing as too much information. Generally, reports with lots of pictures get more views/readers & responders, and personally, I like reports where people have included pictures of themselves - it helps me feel like I "know" someone.

I've been on the boards since planning our "Disneymoon" nearly 2 years ago, and the current trip report I'm writing is the first one that's gotten readers. Don't get discouraged if it feels like people aren't reading your report. It helps to be active on the trip reports of others - people will get to know you, and will read your report & comment as well. A catchy title will help, too. ;)

Cool thank you all for the suggestions! 2 other fast questions really fast:

As I dont have any WDW pics of my own, would it be ok to use pictures from other threads Ive found while browsing the DISboards, of course giving credit to who took the pics?

How do you quote multiple people in a response? Ive seen it done, but every time I try to do it, it does not work at all!! I look quite dumb trying it :rotfl:

To quote multiple people in a thread click on the little box in the middle of the right hand lower corner of the post. Do this to each of the posts that you want to respond to. Does that make sense?

On a Pre-trip you don't need WDW pics. Just introduce your cast members with the pictures you have!
I don't see a problem borrowing pictures especially if you cite your sources!

Oh and yes, I think a few of us are going to try and meet up, no times for sure yet though....

To add to Wigd, once you've clicked the button with the "+ in it for each post you want to reply to, click the post reply button. Everything you wanted to quote should show up in the box where you type your new post, then you make your comments.

And, I agree completely about pictures for a pre-trip. They don't need to be from WDW, and if you want WDW pics, you can "steal" them from the WDW site, or from other reports (giving credit to the original poster, of course). You might want to give the poster a heads-up too, just so they know you're borrowing their photo. Some people might be weird about it, but I think most people would be flattered and happy to share.
