Hi everyone,

I hope you all can help me!!! My husband and daugter are going to Newport Beach, Ca. for a trip that he won. They are going to try and go a couple days early and go to disneyland!! I would love to get some suggestions about Hotels! I know there are many that are right across the street so I think that would be great!! I would love a view a disney but I am sure it will be expensive!! But we don't want a dump either. Any suggestions would be great!!

Also where is the best place to get tickets? Thanks!!

There are a lot of books on the subject. If you are an AAA member, they are also a useful resource.

You can start by checking out the Disneyland Resort website at this address, http://disneyland.disney.go.com/dis...nh/landing?name=GoodNeighborHotelsLandingPage
it lists all the Good Neighbor Hotels and a shows map to where they are located in relation to the parks.

Also this discussion board has a wealth of information as well as threads talking abuot hotels and such. You might want to check the sticky notes at the top of the Disneyland Resort page.

Have a great time. :)

I can recommend the Tropicana (my personal favorite). I have also stayed and enjoyed the Howard Johnsons and the Best Western Park Place Inn and the Camelot. The Tropicana, BWPPI and Camelot are all right at the crosswalk and less than five minutes from either Disneyland or California Adventure. They all offer a free continental breakfast. They are all nice and clean but are older motels with small pools (no slides) and no grounds or landscaping, although the Tropicana has some nice landscaping touches.

The Howard Johnsons has lovely grounds, two nice pools (one with spray jets and a baby pool) and nice rooms. It is a slightly further walk but still very close. You can get an Entertainment Card rate. I believe if you go to the Enterntainment Card website, you can get a book for CA online then call the Hojo direct to get that rate. I believe that rate can only be gotten by calling them directly and I have seen people who have gotten rates very low, much lower than AAA or online rates. The Hojo doesn't offer a free breakfast but has a nice gift shop that sells cereal, milk, etc and has a great restaurant, Mimi's right next door as well as a McDonalds.

All of those hotels have rooms that have some views of Disneyland, I know at the Hojo you can book those, not sure if the others can be booked or just requested as far as a park view.

Good luck, how come you don't get to go too?;)

P.S. Forgot to add you can buy tickets online, at any of those hotels or from your local Disney Store. Be sure and check out: www.disneyland.com to check out ticket prices, park hours (they usually post those two or three months out), parade and entertainment schedules etc. And tell your husband and daughter to get to the gates 30 minutes before opening. The first couple of hours at Disneyland (esp. on weekends) are the best and least crowded. Well worth getting up early for!

Hello! This really depends on what you are looking to get out of the experience. The last time we went to Disneyland, we stayed at the Residence Inn Resort Area in a 2 bed/2bath family suite. Since this was a 6 day trip, it made sense for us. However, this time we are most likely to stay in the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel across from the shuttle entrance. They have a fantastic Entertainment Card rate of $69 for a balcony view of Disneyland! Looks out over the Matterhorn and with a great view of the fireworks at night, and you can still take the shuttle if you really need to (we will!).

That said, we *did* get a quote for the Paradise Pier, with the thought that it might be easier for us to stay "on site". However, the PP is about 2.5 times the cost per night of the HOJO. AND, it's not really any closer - you just get to take the monorail to shorten the trip.

Try going to tripadvisor and do a search for Anaheim hotels. They provide user ratings for hotels (by city). We usually try to stay in one of the top 5 or 10 tripadvisor rated hotels.

Anyway, GL with your search, and enjoy your trip!
