Man, it took me a few hours planted here in front of my computer to read all the posts and I must say I am OVERJOYED that someone took the time out to put tpgether all this info. This will be my first visit to WDW @49yo w/ son 12(almost 13 yo.) This is a first vacation that we have ever taken together, so I wanted it to be memorable. I just decided in late march to go to WDW instead of N.Y (his 1st choice, having been 2x's w/ friends) or one of the islands in Carribean/Hawaii/Mexico. We live in LA so I am used to being near beaches. Sorry for such a long into, but I am so excited I hope I don't have a meltdown waiting for our 7day trip 6/22-6/29. I have been surfing web and it seems alot of people don't really talk much about the CBR as much as the others, which bothered me some because w/o much info I made ressies. A few ?'s I did not see ansered:
1. I asked for Jamaica (love yellow), but I also requested smoking. Just found out they only allow it in certain buildgs...that is ok, i am renting car, and can go to it to smoke if need to. Yesterday I saw that my flight dates were wrong called to check, ph. person confirmed flight but said she would remove the guaranteed smoking rm. I REALLY want to stay @ Jamaica, should i leave it like it is or try to pay extra for smoking rm at Martinique?? Did request refridge also...seems like they are small might do better w/ cooler and use $for preferreed...but no guarantee. 2. If i bring coffee do i need filters?

Yes, I did make a few:
Day I - Boma breakfast, Dinner at The Plaza
Day 3- Coral Reef lunch
Day 4- Rainforest Cafe Dinner (Ak)
Day 6- Dinner O'Hana's
Also just found out about meal vouchers...not sure if I am going to use them that much, might get a few Q&C's and 2 VKl's for RFC.

? Is the fridge worth it if you eat out or should I save my $60 towards something else and use my collapsable cooler?

Also, does anyone out there know how to get to Wal-Mart from CBR. I wanted to pick up a case of water and maybe a few snacks for late night/ early mornins.
Coffee filters, or no coffee filters in room?????

the plaza is very good. you will be glad you chose this restaurant. since i do not drink coffee, i can not answer the coffee filter question. as far as the frig vs a collisaple cooler, are you driving or flying? if flying and renting a car, then i would go w/the frig as that would be one less thing to pack.

I didn't go to WDW until I was 50 yrs. old, so you are a year younger than I was. DW and I have gone back to stay at WDW resorts 30 more times since that first venture. Make sure to go to www.mousesavers.com to see if can get a room discount for your stay, if you don't have a discount already.

Dont forget you could get a refillable mug at your resort as well. And use that for coffee.

Just a thought.

We stayed at CBR for our Honeymoon. 9 days. It was wonderful! We, too were in Jamaica, bldg 45. It was a nice walk through Parrott Cay to OPR. I think you will like it. We brought a cooler and filled it with bottled water and a few snacks. It worked great for us and we have done that several times since, but DH doesn't mind draining the water and refilling with ice when we need to. We usually get lucky and are close to an ice machine anyway. If you don't mind doing that, I say save the $60 and buy a Pal Mickey with it!!

It was 20 years between my first trip and my second trip. I went as a child when there was just the Magic Kingdom and we stayed at Ft. Wilderness. I love WDW more today, as an adult, than I did as a child.

Have a wonderful time with your son!

If you bring your own coffee, you will need filters. (learned this the hard way in Dec.!;) ) The coffee in the rooms was the "filter pack" kind. Have a great trip!:D
