I'm new to this forum, and I just wanted to say "hi".

A bit about me:
First of all, I grew up with Disney. I love the man, I love the stories, I love the characters. Ever since I was ten I wanted to go to Disney World. At the age of 24, I think it's time.

I'm a Wisconsinite who's getting married to a Chicagoan, and I'm trying to convince him to honeymoon down in Florida for (guess...) a vacation to WDW. He doesn't quite have the experience or interest that I have in Disney (he enjoyed the movies enough, but he wasn't brought up by them like I have), but I've heard wonderful things about honeymooning there.

The trouble is convincing him of that. I'm a kid at heart, and we both love roller coasters and other rides. Plus, with our wedding in October, I thought there's no better place than the theme park capitol of the U.S. for some haunted fun.

Love is blind, and that's how I am about a possible trip to WDW. But my knowledge on the matter is zilch. I need advice and suggestions!

Thank you for your help.

OMG you have to go to WDW for your honey moon. I went for mine a couple years and had a blast. Now DH and I go twice a year and guess where I am from right now GREAT LAKES IL! When you get there go to a shop...and shop and ask for the mickey and minnie bridal hats.........you wear then through the park and CM's will make your trip as magical as they can! When we went we got front row seats to Fantasmic, Lion King, Indiana Jones, and were given anytime fast passes to Splash Mountain, Test Track, and Rockin Roller coaster. ITS WAS GREAT! And tell your fiance that if he doesn't want to go he can "take this one for team and you will take one for team next vacation" but i can garuntee you that you won't have to take one for team...he'll have a blast!

I will be spending my honeymoon there in Oct. I have never told my girlfriend where we are going. We were there 2 yrs ago and really liked it. If he doesn't want to go tell him that you can find a Disney guy on here to take you. :thumbsup2 . I'm sure he will change his mind. :rotfl:

One of my coworkers told me about the wedding hats, but I thought it was just a novelty. I didn't know you actually get stuff for wearing them! Neat!

A couple of you suggested just telling him where we're going and not giving him the opportunity to suggest some other place to honeymoon. I think that's a fabulous idea, so we'll see how brave I am... (he likes to "be a part" of the wedding planning, but whenever I ask him about things, he just shrugs. Such a guy!)

I think I'll be having MANY marriages, and MANY honeymoons in my lifetime. ;)

Amen to that!! :rotfl:

We just had our honeymoon there last month. it was so magical and couldn't have imagined it anywhere else. I would get the books and show him... WDW and Disney Cruise. The cruise would be just as magical but more relaxing. He might like that better. I love them both and go as often as possible!!!

OH...and CONGRATULATIONS!!!

My hubby gave me a choice of where I would like to go for a honeymoon and of course I picked Disney! He wasn't exactly thrilled with the idea at first...actually wasn't really thrilled until we got there. ;) There are soooo many romantic spots in Disney that makes it a perfect place for a honeymoon. Be sure when booking your reservations that you tell them you'll be on your honeymoon. Also, get the bride and groom mickey ear's and pins to wear. You'll be amazed by the attention and perks that you get. :) Also, if flying be sure to mention when checking in for your flight that you're on your honeymoon. They may just bump you up to first class as they did us! :)
There's a book out something like Touring WDW as a Couple or something or other. You might want to look into it.

Just wanted to say. . .
