and have a question! This board seems friendly (I've been lurking to ask a specifically silly question.

With my former point and shoot I had trouble in Florida, specifically going from a/c to the hot, humid outside with mist on the lense and the pictures would be foggy. Will I still have this problem and is there any way to avoid it? Thanks!

I don't there is a way to manage the condensation other than just letting the camera/lens "acclimate", if you do happen to find one pleast post it!!

this has been asked before but don't remember the solution...i am wondering though if it would help to keep all the equipment in a camera bag as much as possible while indoors? i know in winter( cold to hot) you can seal it in a plastic ziploc in the cold and let it acclimate in the bag but don't know if due to the high humidity that would help or not here

There's no reason way to get around the laws of physics on this one. The best thing you can do is to enclose the camera in a Ziplock bag before you go out. Open your camera bag after you are outside. This will allow the camera to acclimate quicker and let the condensation form on the outside of the bag instead of on, or in, your camera as it warms up. The alternative is to keep your camera bag zipped and allow the camera to acclimate slower.

Thanks for the ziplock bag suggestion. I'll try that! I always keep it in its camera bag, so hopefully the ziplock will help.

I've also used some of those moisture packets that come in boxes when you buy new electronics that absorb moisture. Those do help reduce the condensation.
