New to the DIS: Annual Pass = #-day Ticket?

Hi I'm new to the DIS and I'd like to know the price equivalence.

At what point the regular ticket equals to an Annual Pass? 10 days? 8 days? I'm thinking of going to Disney World either in November and December for at least 8 nights and would like to know whether it's better/equal to an 8-day ticket.

You would have to compare the current cost of an AP or PAP to the cost of a comparable MYW ticket.

I haven't done the math since the changes in ticket prices but I can tell you that we decided to go with them for our 10 day trip in 2003.

Use to be that at 8 days the AP was less then the park hopper. With the new prices AP is over $400 but a 10 day pass with parkhopper and no experation is $350. I think they will see less AP sold with the new rates.

An annual pass = $420.68

As someone said, an advance purchase 10 day base with hopping, and non-expiration is $353.58. There is no other ticket that you can buy that when added to the price of the non-expiring 10 day pass will be less than $420. So 11 days visiting the parks would be the break even point.

Unless: if you're planning an extended vacation, if you were to purchase a 10 day pass with hopping, and to keep it as an expiring ticket, you could then purchase an expiring 2 day park hopper for less than an annual pass. In that instance, you'd need to have 13 days or more to make the annual pass a better deal.

That doesn't take into account any hotel/merchandise/food discounts.

the annual pass w/DVC discount is $300 so I finally broke down and bought those! and had a $25 discount on our DDE card
