New to the DDP...quick question

Hi, I'm new to the DDP and have booked it already for our trip in June. I was just wondering if free dining is ever offered at this time (1-2 week of June), not that it matters as we have already paid for the plan, I'm just curious....if so I can upgrade to a moderate resort for the same price


It's a longshot but I figured it's better to ask then be left in the dark

I'm not sure as I dont' do trips during that time frame, NY state schools dont' get out until the last week of June!

However, if an offer comes out you can call and ask to have the offer applied to your existing reservation.

I booked our Nov. trip in the spring and a free dining offer came out this month. We are arriving the LAST day of free dining so I called to see if they could apply it to my trip. Mind you, my trip has not been paid for yet; I have only paid the $200 deposit. Since my arrival was on one of the free dining days, the CM was able to apply it to my reservation. She was so nice about it! I didn't have any trouble at all, so just keep checking the free offers.

I don't know if they will offer it in June, but I would suspect that is a slow time with many schools in session, so it certainly is a possibility.

The general public free dining in 2011 ended on 6/2. I don't think you will find free dining for stays beyond that time frame in the summer.

Prior years I do not believe there was any free dining in that time frame. Prior to the past few years, it was mainly offered only in August/September. The last year or so they've done a lot of different things due to the economy, I guess, offering it for different dates and earlier.

I didn't understand the 2nd part of your question about upgrading to a moderate for the same price.

PS - Summer resort rates at values in 2012 start on June 1 - it is not a slow time (and started June 3 in 2011). Summer rates are one step below the peak rates.

I think they mean if they get free dining they can do a moderate for the same price as a value with paid dining.

That's exactly what I mean, thank you...and thanks for the responses, chances are we'll be there during Star Wars Weekends anyway so I figure there wouldn't be both that AND free dining at the same time...
