Been lurking for a few months and wanted to thank everyone here for saving my feet. I love my Crocs! :Pinkbounc

We're planning our 1st trip to WDW during the 1st week of May next year. This board has given me some excellent ideas on what to pack.

We're renting a villa in the Indian Creek community. This is the 1st time that we've ever done this, but with our kids being mostly adults now, the idea of being cramped in a hotel room for 8 nights just didn't sound appealing.

There are 8 of us going, and we like the idea of leaving the parks and spreading out in a 5 bedroom home with our own private pool and jacuzzi too.

My daughter and I are having a blast planning this vacation. I'm even making a DVD slide show. (with Disney music) I am using the photos of the villa and all the attractions at the parks and recording them on DVD to keep us inspired. Our men aren't into the planning thing at all, so it's up to us..but that's ok. They're missing out on half the fun.

Well, once again...hello to everyone and thank you so much for leading me to the miracle shoe...Crocs.

Welcome, welcome, welcome! A word of warning, you will find these boards very addicting. However, you will also find these board very helpful. So, enter at your own risk. I enjoy the planning almost more than the actual trip. Notice I said almost. But for me the planning and anticipation of a trip is a lot of fun. Feel free to ask any question on these boards as no question is a stupid one. Don't forget to enjoy yourself.

Welcome Welcome :wave2:

You have come to the right place to plan your vacation. The girls and guys of this site probably know more about Disney then the people who built it.

Regardless of the question someone always has the answer.

I agree with you...planning for me is half the fun.

So here's to happy planning :grouphug:

Welcome Welcome Welcom :goodvibes

You will definitely find a wealth of knowledge on these boards. I definitely feel you can get better answers here than you can from some of the CM's. Ask away and enjoy :flower:

Hiya,

Welcome to the Dis Boards! I love the sound of your DVD. What a fantastic idea! I would really like to make one of these for my family before our trip in august but i have no idea where to start. I know exactly what i want to put in it but im not sure how to transfer it to a DVD. I was thinking of doing it in Powerpoint but how would i then transfer it?

Thanks

I only have a Pentium 3 computer, but it has enough 'umph' to allow me to use a software called 'ProShow Gold' for making CD slide shows. (You can buy this online for about 50 bucks, I think)

I record them in CVD mode, and most DVD players will play them. (look on the face of your DVD player..it should say what it will play)

You just have to make sure that when you watch them, that you press #1 on your remote control to get the show started. (I'm only telling you this because this little tidbit of information caused me a lot of problems at first)

If your DVD player says that it will play CDRWs or CDRs, then this software will play on your television. If your computer has a DVD recorder, then you can record your shows on DVD RWs..which would make for an even better looking show.

I scanned nearly 50 years of photos (2,500) onto my computer, downloaded music from my CD collection, and created some pretty awesome slide shows using the ProShow Gold software. I recorded all our memories by decades...from when my husband and I were kids in the 50s, until the 2000s with our grandchildren. I also made a slide show of our family's history dating back to the mid 1800s.

It took a lot of trial and error, but now all my kids have all of ours, and their, pictures on CD and it's so much nicer to see the photos on the TV instead of going through dozens of photos album.

I just showed my daughter's family the slide show of our coming WDW vacation, with Disney songs from my CDs, and they loved it.

You said that you had power point...how very lucky you are. I wish that I could afford it because I've seen Slide Shows on Power Point, and they are the best.

Well...I hope that I've been helpful to you. My WDW slide show will the inspiration that my daughter and I will need to keep us working as temporary workers this summer. We figure that she and I need to work for 10 weeks at a temporary service to bring home about $2800.00, which will pay for the rest of our dream vacation.

We just had a yard sale this weekend, and were pleasantly surprised..no..not the right word....we were SCHOCKED, when we earned over a $1000.00 for stuff that we considered junk. Now, everyone we know wants to use our yard for their yard sale. I think we should charge a percentage...what do you think...LOL!

Thankyou so much, that was really helpful. Ive even started my show on powerpoint now........lol

Youve really inspired me!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

Thanks, I'll let u know how it goes!

Have a nice holiday!
