I have a few questions. First, what are die cuts and circuits? I keep hearing about them but I have no idea what they are.

Second, I see so many PERFECT fonts. Do you print them on the page with special ink and printed or are they printed on normal paper and cutout.

Third, how many pages do your books have? Mine is becoming an absurdly large for WDW (over 100 pages). I know I'll need a 2nd book, but will a 3rd be needed?

Cricut is a die cut machine. You can find out all about them at www.cricut.com. It's basically a machine that lets you cut out a variety of fonts and shapes. A bunch of us have the machines so we talk about them a lot, especially to share information about sales on their cartridges. A lot of the fonts you see for titles are letters that were cut with die cut machines.

You'll get lots of different answers about page numbers. My WDW album from last year was about 52 pages. If the trip had been any longer, I would have split it into two albums. This year we are going for 11 nights and I plan to do two albums.

I'm like you pretty new to scrapbooking. I just got my disney album and am looking to get started. I am also curious about using fonts from the computer..how to transfer them? I am not familar with Cricut..looks like a great machine, but too expensive for something that is just a budding hobby.

Love my cricut! You can buy die cuts at scrapbook stores too. They are typically paper cut with a laser to get good clean edges and details.

The true type fonts (TTF) are the ones on my computer, I use regular printer ink but I use scrapbook paper in the printer.

My WDW albums are typically 2 or 3 albums per trip. DH takes thousands of pics and I feel the need to scrap them all! LOL you will get lots of different answers for this question. I also have an ABC album that I use for left over pics.

The ABC album for the left over pictures sounds like a great idea! I bought 1 scrap book and 1 photo album with a sticky backing. I might do an ABC with that , but if I really enjoy it I'll do another scrapbook for that and, lol.

I doubt I'll get a diecut thing now that I know what it is. It seems like way too much money for a hobby that I'm just starting.

Fonts, my paper dosnt fit in my printer. I have a 12x12 scrapbook, so yeah. But the normal paper dosnt seem to fit either, oh well. If you want a REALLY good site to get fonts go to dafont.com. It even has the Disney font, called Woltograph.

First off WELCOME to the addicting world of Scrapooking!!!

Second, the photo album with the sticky album is not a good album for your pics. According to all scrapbooking sites, it can ruin them.

You have found a great place to share your scrapbooking with!!

Welcome.

There are a few things to do to use the fonts from your computer, (and if you have questions once you get started, holler)

You can cut 12x12 paper smaller, obviously. Or use scraps by printing first on normal paper, and then adhereing a scrap (with repositionable adhesive) to that piece of paper over where it printed the first time, and print it again.

You can use the "word Art" function in Microsoft PowerPoint or Word to make your letters fancy and resize them and put them on a slant and so forth. You can also print outline letters (no fill) on the back of your paper in mirror image and cut them out, if you don't want the printing to show.

I used to print the outline letters right side too on the front of the paper and cut outside the outline, giving me an automatic 'border' around them. (Now, I have a cricut)

You can print of vellum, or paper weight paper, or parchment paper, but cardstock can be too heavy.

I've been scrapping since 2000 in the modern fashion, and have probably 50 books of which probably 30-40% are Disney. I don't go much over 50 sides because once a book reaches about 2 inches thick, it starts to be too heavy for me to manage. Excess photos go in file boxes, because I not only document our trips, I also make gift albums and topic albums like Flower show, food, character, Marathon, Resort, etc. (We're talking fanatic here, lol)

I have another question. Where can I get a good pattern of Mickey's silhouette online?

Thanks for the text help!
